I wanted to get that, but I've heard that it doesn't include the miniseries nor the last part of the last season. Is that true?

Just picked up Bionic Woman, the big NBC flop from last year. Only eight episodes including the pilot, on two discs. And even with a second watch it didn't get any better. Thank Goodness, I only spend $4.99 for it used at CD Tradepost.

No that is false. I just finished watching the miniseries, and the last part of season 4 is definitely included. The only things "missing" are the Caprica pilot (different show really but some seem to think it belongs here), the webisodes in between seasons 3 and 4 and the yet-to-be-released movie The Plan. Overall a pretty much complete set.

Well, I am getting the Zorro Treasures this year, so I don't need the awful, grainy colorized Zorro seasons anymore. As for the others, I only watched them once, and I know that I more than likely would not watch them again. Narrowing down my dvd collection is hard, but I just do not have the time to watch all of them anymore. The way I see it is: if I am not going to watch them, there is no reason to keep them. I plan on getting rid of some of the others too. I have been gradually narrowing down my collection for the last three weeks. My goal is to get it down to 300 movies and television shows. I have around 30 more to get rid of to reach that goal.

And here I am getting close to 3000! :brick: I think I would even have a hard time getting down to 2500 now...

I just picked up Dexter Season 3 and Simpsons Season 12.

Just got The Simpsons season 12

In case you're all wondering about the packaging (given season 11's packaging disaster): it's still the same style of packaging but with a few improvements.

The removable sheet that usually comes on the back of the box with all the episodes listed is now a cardboard sheet which doubles as a closing flap. Which I like because I can have the title appear on my shelf with the title on it and have no missing sides.

As for the slots it looks like they're using a strong material for the inside of the flaps. I dunno what you call it, it's like a shiny vinyl cardboard instead of papercardboard so you're less guaranteed to get scratches and gunk (I'm still trying to figure how to get the red gunk off my season 11 set). Plus there's a little thumb hole in each slot so getting it out is slightly easier. I cant tell if there's any glue spot inside without tearing the thing apart. That's the only thing I'm still concerned about.

I also noticed that these sets are getting more expensive. $40?! What the hey!!! I remember when you get these sets with the same amount of episode for only $25!

They haven't been getting more expensive, each set has had the MSRP of $49.99 when they were first released (with the exception of Season 1, which was $39.99), and in stores they usually sell for $40. After a while (lately it's been around the same time the Limited Edition character heads go out of print), the MSRP drops down to $39.99 (with the exception of season 1, which dropped to $29.99) and they're generally sold in stores for around $30. So far only seasons 1 - 10 have decreased in MSRP, and it's only a matter of time before S11 decreases and the Limited Edition goes out of print. You can generally find the early seasons for around $25, but these season sets of The Simpsons have always been expensive when they're first released, and I hate having to buy them so early and for so much, but it's the only way to get the Limited Edition packaging.

I do remember when Circuit City was in business (boy, I never thought I'd be saying that), they sold seasons 1 - 3 for around $25 and seasons 4 and up for $30 - $35.

I found a really old receipt from 2003 for South Park season 2 where I paid 49.99 (minus $15 in the Suncoast reward certificates they had back then.) :o - Of course, it was the version with the Suncoast/Best Buy exclusive unaired pilot disc, which had already gone out of print, otherwise I would have never paid so much.

Just last week, Best Buy had the Simpsons Seasons 1-5 for 11.99 each, and 6-11 for 19.99 each!
