Lionsgate Home Entertianment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of House of the Dead (Director’s Cut Funny Version) on 9th September 2008 priced at $19.98 SRP. Uwe Boll turns horror into humuor with this comedic rendition of his Zombie videogame adaptation. It’s spring break and these typical college kids just want to have fun – killing zombies! This director’s cut of House of the Dead features new dialogue, alternative takes, pop up commentary and animation from the original video game. Original cast includes Jurgen Prochnow and Clint Howard with a special appearance by famed breast augmentation specialist Siegfried Wienermeister.

Features include:
* English DD5.1 Surround
* English and Spanish subtitles
* New audio commentary with director Uwe Boll
* “Behind the House – Anatomy of the Zombie Movement” featurette
* “Stacked for ZOM BAT” – the Sexy babes of House of the Dead prepare for battle
Uwe Boll not only agreed to this, but actually did it? It's a sharp contrast to his laughable epic aspirations revealed in the commentary on the existing disc. I really don't know what to think about this - the movie is complete tripe, but I have a morbid facination to actually see this.

A quick note: The movie may be rubbish, but the existing DVD has one of the best commentary tracks ever on it. No, I don't mean Boll's which is more delusional than the typical Micheal Bay verbal drivel that passes as his commentaries, but the second commentary track from the producer. If you ever want to find out how things can go wrong when making a movie, even if you have the best of intentions, this is the track to listen to.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
