Oh, I am SO excited for this release. After watching those clips, I am even more excited! I have only seen Cinderella a couple of times, and the last time was around 1988. I can't believe it has been nearly 20 years since I have seen it! In fact, watching those clips, I had forgotten about "So, This Is Love". I absolutely LOVE that song!
I can't wait for this release! I may even spring for the Collector's Gift Set!
Come on, October 4th!

In the movie her hair is not red!Son Of Flubber wrote:I disagree.
What I like about this particular cover is that Cinderella actually looks as she did in the movie. She doesn't look like herself on the 2 disc set.
They took us to a magical journey under the sea, they show us how a beautiful girl can look into a heart of a beast, they even made us fly on a magic carpet...
Someday the magic will return!

On-topic: Sadly, I'll be skipping this platinum. The bonus features look so great, but I'm not a fan of Cinderella, and after I watched teh bonus features, it would just gather dust on my shelf and be useless.

It seems that alot of people are buying Cinderella to have the complete platinum range so far, i'm mostly getting it because i've never seen it before and that i've heard good comments about it, but i'm not going to lie, i am getting it to add to my collection as well!
But....are there many people who are truely excited about this release? because of the movie itself?

Spain is apparently getting a SE of Cinderella 2. Here's the cover art:

I like the idea of that cover (the way it's laid out, the colour scheme), but I think it resembles the SE of Belle's Magical World too much.

First online review (minus Amazon)?
This is only brief, but it may interest some...here is a review of Cinderella from DVD Exclusive. It isn't very in depth in the same way as IGN, DVD Movie Guide (and of course, the far superior Ultimate Disney ), but it does note that the Mary Blair feature is a fairly interesting one.

A couple of things I have heard from rumors and friends and other fellow DVD reviews have worried me...
I've heard that there might have been some voice and sound-effect re-recording during a few sections of the film specifically for the Enhanced Home Theater Mix...
I sure hope this isn't true, becuase Mary Poppins sure had some terribly intrusive new foley work!
Luke, do you know as of yet if this is true?!

Worries about Cinderella
Since Walt Disney's Cinderella is my favorite movie, I want it soley because I love and enjoy the movie so much.
I am quite worried that Walt Disney's Cinderella will be messed with. Not only in sound, but also in picture. The restoration seemed to have a few problems with it. Some screen capture comparison I made make it look like colors have been altered, among other things.

I really do hope that Cinderella hasn't been messed with, in sight or sound. If the Enhanced Home Thater Mix is altered, at least it's not the original soundtrack being altered. But, it still shouldn't be messed with.

This isn't a review, but the reviewer of the disc on the Home Theater Forum has posted his initial reaction to the disc in a little thread (bare in mind that it will be locked once the full review is posted).:

It looks like we're in for a treat.
