I don't know if anyone will be able to help me on this, but it's been bugging me for a while, and I thought I'd try here! Here it goes!
Here are all of the original Disney Princess voices:
Snow White - Adriana Caselotti
Cinderella - Illene Woods
Princess Aurora - Mary Costa
Ariel - Jodi Benson
Belle - Paige O'Hara
Jasmine - Linda Larkin (speaking), Lea Salonga (singing)
Pocahontas and Mulan are generally featured as Princesses, but these two are not the ones I want to focus on so muc. (I still love them though!)
Now, as the Disney Princess line is so popular, it is obvious that they would one day revisit the old classics, like Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. But, obviously, the leading lady voices have become too old to carry on their famous counter parts, and they have to be given to a new generation of women voice over actors. This is where I have become immensly confused.
It appears that on different occassions, different voices fill in for different parts. Snow White has been replaced, and as the voices are not credited, it is immpossible to tell who it is. But, it appears that whoever the replacement is, has doe all voiceover work that Snow White has been required to do. By this I mean the Princess DVD line, including "A Christmas of Enchantment", and all songs that are required to be sung. The CD I'm using as an example is the Disney Princess Christmas album, which Snow White features on.
Cinderella is a different matter entirely. Jennifer Hale has replaced Illene Woods, and I personally think she is a wonderful replacement. She has featured in 'House of Mouse', Cinderella II, the upcoming Cinderella III, and on Disney merchendise as well. But who provides her singing voice? On the 'If you can Dream' song, there is another woman playing Cinderella's voice, I'm sure of it. And it sounds dreadful. Then, on The Christmas CD, it is a different voice which sounds lovely, much more like Illene Woods. Also on the track 'Every Girl Can be a Princess', it is the same woman. Is this Jennifer Hale?? I'm not too sure, but it sounds great all the same. As I'm in the UK, I havnt got 'A Christmas of Enchantment' yet, but I watched the trailer, and it appears to be a different woman singing for Cinderella again! And the song 12 days of christmas is different from the one featured on the Xmas CD.

Jennifer Hale is also credited as playing Princess Aurora on the house of mouse TV series. Is she playing her in the upcoming 'Kingdom of Kindness'?? On the Xmas CD, it certainly doesnt sound like Jennifer Hale, but again from the trailer you will see that the 12 days of chritmas is different from the CD version, and I think her voice sounds better, whoever she is, on the DVD.
Ariel has always been played by Jodi Benson, and I'm sure she will continue to do so.
Belle has always been played by Paige o'Hara, but on the Xmas CD she has been replaced by Susan Eagan. I thought this would be Belle's new voice, but again, on the Enchantement DVD, Paige is back and singing 12 days of xmas, and doing all the voice work. was sh ejust not availible to do the CD??? hmmmmmm.......plus she is back for the "Kingdom of Kindness" DVD.
Lea Salonga and Linda Larkin always come back as well.

If you put the If you can Dream CD into your computer, they come up with a list of the artists. These are the ones I don't know: Susie Stevens Logan and Christie Houser. Anyone know them??
So, can you see my point?? I'm an avid fan of everything to do with Disney Princesses, and I think it would be fair of Disney if they credited their Disney Princess women in the work that they do. Disney characters are defined by their voice, and for us to get used to them, Disney shouldnt go changing them all the time! Sorry to go on so long, but I've wanted to ask this for a while! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
