Re: Olaf Presents
Apparently they removed the line where he said Ariel is a garbage collector and replaced it to "scavenger"
Re: Olaf Presents
Aww, you hate it? I think it's kinda cute, and so in character for Olaf.Disney Duster wrote:Ok, so maybe you find Frozen II'a songs more somber and Disney musical-style and not quirky. I get why you like them more, now. I'm glad we both hate "When I'm Older" lol.
Meanwhile, I think that Frozen II's songs are so much better than the songs in the original. I loved Let It Go, but Show Yourself was so much more impressive, both musically and visually. And I appreciated it even more after seeing how hard the songwriters worked on it, in the "Into the Unknown" series. Lost in the Woods is very special to me, because I met my best friend one day at the gym as I was listening to it And Into the Unknown is just...wow.

Re: Olaf Presents
Yes, I hate the song. It is in character for Olaf, but I don't find it clever. I can't even remember it that well, if it is clever or not, but I didn't find it clever on first viewing. I like "Lost in the Woods" on its own but I don't think it's good for the movie and especially not for its plot. No song reaches "Let it Go" or "For the First Time in Forever" for me. And though I like the melody of "Show Yourself", I hate that it and "Into the Unknown" have lyrics all about just how special Elsa is.
Re: Olaf Presents
Yeah, but Let It Go has the same kind of lyrics, sort of. Into the Unknown and Show Yourself are basically sequels to Let It Go, in my opinion, at least.
I remember, when I saw Frozen II in theaters, and Sven started to sing in Lost in the Woods' intro, I just started laughing out loud. I found it so funny and clever.

Re: Olaf Presents
I know Disney the company probably wanted sequels to LIG, but ItU and SY both feel different from LIG. LIG was more of an empowerment anthem, imo. ItU had a very ethereal and mysterious vibe. SY is more introspective and not as shout-it-loud-and-proud as LIG is. Neither of those songs are about letting go of inhibitions the way LIG is; SY always makes me cry where the other two don't inspire that feeling at all. I feel like the only true similarities between the three are that they're all sung by Idina Menzel and written by the Lopezes.
I agree with you Duster that FtFTiF and LIG are better than anything in the sequel, but I do love II's soundtrack. ItU is the weakest of Elsa's various songs to me, but Idina Menzel's vocals are gorgeous to listen to, at least for me. To me, that one works best in-film; the part where Elsa is standing in the black with the spirits changing form was what takes it to the next-level. SY feels more powerful in the film itself, but it wrings the emotion out of me even when it's separate from the movie. I still feel like the biggest failure of the sequel soundtrack was the lack of duets between Anna and Elsa, Anna and Kristoff. That's a big part of why FtFTiF is so phenomenal, to me anyway, the mixture of their two voices. They should've had Anna and Elsa sing a bittersweet reprise of "Some Things Never Change" after so much has changed and they are separated from one another.

Re: Olaf Presents
"Let It Go" is about how Elsa is being herself. "Show Yourself" is about how spirits are telling Elsa "You are the one you've been waiting for all of your life." Those have got to be the most selfish, egotistical lyrics I have ever heard in my life. That's my problem with that song.
I'm glad we agreed on that one point, Divinity. Unfortunately I don't like "Some Things Never Change", but duets for Anna and Elsa or Anna and Kristoff sound like great ideas to me.

Re: Olaf Presents
I agree with what you guys said, but for me, these three songs are very similar. They represent Elsa's journey as a character.

Re: Olaf Presents
Hm. Well, Vlad, I for one just didn't like Elsa's journey in the sequel. She went from "learn to love and be loved by others" to "rule a forest by yourself!"
Re: Olaf Presents
I'm not Olafs biggest fan at all, but these really really made me chuckle
Very well done, and I hope they do some more ! Especially of their lesser - known properties as well, that would be fun.

Re: Olaf Presents
I just realized I posted this in the wrong thread. So I thought I'd put it here:
I saw these a few days back. So hilarious!! The TLM and Tangled ones, especially. His imitations of Ariel (nasal imitation of her on the rock, "hehehe...feeeet!" "I'minloveI'minloveI'minlove!!!" "Papa, heeelp!!") and Rapunzel (some line about her needing therapy and the ending of her having parents that aren't monsters now) made me LOL so hard. They made me want to cringe and laugh hysterically all at the same time. Then there was Ursula ("I got your larynx!" and "Now I'm gonna marry her boyfriend!"), Gothel, and the summation of Mufasa's outlook ("and I also eat some of them"). So cute and funny! It's like if you asked a 5-year-old to recount the movie for you.
I'm surprised they have so few right now, since I feel like these were made ages ago and I'm only just now getting to see them. I really want the Walt princess films to be done, those will be so good.
