I'm glad it was so successful. It's a shame it wasn't released in theaters, save for a few countries where Disney+ is not available yet. Maybe it has gotten the streaming service more subscribers, but it probably could've made more money if it had received the same kind of release as Raya, Cruella or Black Widow.

In a way, I'm glad Disney shot the PIXAR film in the foot that way. They did the same thing with Raya by deciding to have a battle with Cinemark theaters.

Does anyone have any idea why The Art of Luca book isn't available anywhere? Was it the most limited edition book in history?

Was Luca's soundtrack a digital release only?

A short is a good possibility since each Pixar film gets one, now in Disney Plus instead of the Blu-ray. I'm guessing that if there's a short it will probably be about Uncle Ugo or Luca's grandmother.

The other option I thought about is something to do with the parks.

That sounds likely. A short about the two old ladies from the village could also be interesting, though they're probably too secondary characters to have their own short.

That didn't occur to me. I guess it's also possible.

Maybe the sold-out art book is getting its second printing (a bookstore owner told me that it should get a second one). I want that AND a short AND Parks stuff. :p

It was indeed a short:

YESSSSSSS

It's been so long since I really, truly loved a Disney (as a whole company) movie before Luca (and it isn't even a musical!), I can't believe we're getting a small peek into that world again (although I *will* riot against a full sequel for this one. It's truly, really perfect as it is)

A still from Ciao Alberto and its synopsis have been posted on the website for the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, where the short will be previewed on October 27. The site also reveals Ciao Alberto is 7 minutes long, is directed by McKenna Harris, produced by Matt DeMartini, and stars Jack Dylan Grazer (Alberto), Marco Barricelli (Massimo) and Jacob Tremblay (Luca).

With his best friend Luca away at school, Alberto is enjoying his new life in Portorosso working alongside Massimo — the imposing, tattooed, one-armed fisherman of few words — who's quite possibly the coolest human in the entire world as far as Alberto is concerned. He wants more than anything to impress his mentor, but it's easier said than done.

My gay friends all said Luca was the movie they needed in their childhood. Personally I would have liked it more if Alberto was cuter. I didn't like his hair.

It looks good! I like that it'll feature Alberto and Massimo and not some secondary character as we feared at first. Also, since it takes place after the events of the movie, I guess it'll feel more like a continuation of the story rather than a deleted scene like many of these shorts.

I like that as well. It's a continuation of Alberto's arc from the original, seeing him get validation from his new father figure.
