Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
I'm on a quick lunch break right now, but when I have time I will play around it with the tips you guys gave me and will let you know! I might end up just editing this post right here and play around with trying to post images. THANK YOU!
Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Personally, I use Imgur. I started using it because you don't need to create an account to post images with it and I try to avoid creating accounts if I can. Although, I think on the one Farerb suggested you don't need an account either. Posting images with Imgur is very easy, you just have to follow these steps: go to Imgur.com, click on "new post", drag your image there from your computer or the Internet, wait for the image to load, click on the ellipsis next to "copy link", click on "get share links", and then on "copy link" on the option "BBCode (forums)". Then you just need to paste the link on the forum.
If the image is too large, I personally use Paint to reduce its size (I also have Photoshop, but it takes longer to open, so I don't use it for small things like this), though I'm sure there are other ways of doing it. As for the covers, in case you don't know where to search for them, the most important ones can usually be found on Disney Wiki Fandom, on the home video page for each movie.
And thank you for offering to continue with the covers, blackcauldron85. Like Farerb, I'm not too interested in the DTV sequels and I don't have much time right now, so I preferred not to do it. I wouldn't mind doing the live-action remakes, though, later if you can't continue, for example. Though, I'd rather you or someone else did them too.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't forgotten about this! I've had a super busy week and I have a busy weekend but I will try out the pictures and start collecting covers. It just might take a little time.

*Test post*
Hmm, so when I tried on my phone I got a red error message saying that the dimensions could not be found, but it worked on the computer. I would prefer the computer, so that's good. So let me collect some covers, and if I have any issues, I will try your pointers and will ask for help! THANK YOU!!!

2. 1991 VHS
3. 1991 Laserdisc
4. Poland DVD
5. 2004 UK VHS/DVD
6. 1992 Australian VHS ~ Something about the angle of the text that makes up the title and the colors (which could be from a camera flash) makes it all look worse.
7. 2015 DVD
I always liked how the covers looked a great deal like an Indiana Jones duck film.

Hey, thanks for continuing the thread
I never noticed how similar the covers were for this particular title. I think my favorite is the 2006 DVD, because, as you guys said, it makes the movie look like Indiana Jones meets Disney. I never saw it though. I'll watch it as soon as I get Disney+.

You're welcome, you guys! I think all the covers are good, as few variations as there are. I have to put the ones with Gene on them up top, though!

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
TRoJ
1. Bulgarian DVD ~ The front cover anyway is pretty, simply because it could be a generic image for any of the Aladdin films really. You wouldn't know it's TRoJ from it though. The back part of the cover though??? Is the Genie at the top supposed to be Jafar's Genie form? (Since the skin is reddish-looking...) I think it's supposed to be something random fairytale-esque for the back cover, that the film is being read from a storybook or something--looks sort of like Tiger Lily (or maybe a knockoff Pocahontas?), Aslan of Narnia, Alice, etc.
2. Poland DVD
3. 2005 VHS / DVD ~ I think the overall cover looks better than the 1994 VHS cover, but Jafar himself looks a little bit worse, to me anyway.
4. Poland DVD (Princess)
5. 1994 VHS / Laserdisc ~ I always disliked the cover for the way Jafar looks. I think it's at least truth in advertising, because the film itself looks low-quality (considering it was intended for TV).
6. Portugal DVD ~ I want to rank this higher than the others because I think it looks better where you can see Jafar's full face, but the arrangement isn't great.
King of Thieves
1. 2005 Australian DVD
2. 2005 DVD
3. Poland DVD
4. 1996 VHS / Laserdisc
5. 1997 Australia VHS
6. 1997 UK VHS
7. Poland Cover (with purple border and everything)
8. Argentina / Taiwan Cover ~ They re-purposed that clipart from TRoJ cover. It clearly wasn't meant to be looked at that closely.
Multi-Pack
1. 2013 Australia Trilogy DVD
2. 2008 UK Trilogy DVD ~ I think Jasmine and Aladdin look pretty nice here.
3. 2004 UK Trilogy DVD ~ I like this for the whole series. It's fairly classy.
4. 2017 Japanese MovieNEX Trilogy
5. Brazil / Sweden Cover
6. 2015 2-Movie Blu
7. Hungarian Trilogy DVD
8. 2011 UK Trilogy DVD ~ Good Lord. Aladdin's face in that top picture, Jafar's face, the cramped clutter of the whole thing. Completely horrid.

The Return of Jafar:
1. 1994 VHS/Laserdisc - it's not as nice looking as some other versions, but I think the giant Jafar head only makes sense with the crystal ball.

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
It HAS to be fan-made or a bootleg for sure. I know that that is Goodtimes' Pocahontas, so I'd guess that the rest are the Goodtimes' knockoff versions of Disney's films, but maybe are from other knockoffs...Disney's Divinity wrote:TRoJ

I have to get ready for work so I can't rank at this moment!

Someone posted this Sleeping Beauty special Platinum Edition cover at a Facebook group, I don't think I have ever seen it. The slipcover is sort of a pop up where you can put different characters there:

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
That's actually one of the nicer SB covers I've seen.
@bc85: No worries. I read what you said in Off-Topic about your anxiety with the new job, so that definitely takes priority over anything like this. Wishing you luck!
