Never seen the appeal for this character. I'd rather he pop up in a Solo sequel (or more likely, TV series) but I suppose this was inevitable.

‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ New Disney+ ‘Star Wars’ Series Launching December 2021

:pink: I haven't yet watched today's The Mandalorian episode to see the announcement, but YAY! I wonder why they didn't announce this at the Investors' Meeting last week.

Is there going to be a 'The Mandalorian' season 3 or is this new series going to be like the third season?

^ This article assumes that S3 = Boba Fett (one reason = S3 Mando + Boba show are both coming late Christmas 2021, and D+ wouldn't have 2 similar Star Wars shows at the same time...)

I just finished The Mandalorian's S2 finale, and I can see Boba's story being told next; Mando did what he needed to do with "Baby Yoda".

Inside the Magic article says otherwise:

Lucasfilm Artist Says ‘Book of Boba Fett’ & ‘Mandalorian’ Season 3 Are Separate

It's all very confusing, to be honest...

^ That clarifies it, thank you! :) Sounds like it's not set in stone (or he just couldn't give more info for fear of getting in trouble), but that it's most likely going to be 2 shows.

With how good The Mandalorian is, I'm looking forward to all the new Star Wars shows, so bring them on!

Confirmed as a separate show from The Mandalorian.
The Book of Boba Fett, a new Original Series, starring Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen and executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez, set within the timeline of The Mandalorian, is coming to Disney+ Dec. 2021.

This looks pretty exciting. Really enjoying the Star Wars series for D+ so far.

This last episode was a lot to process. We’re really going back to Star Wars lore now. It’s kind of exciting.

I LOVED The Book of Boba Fett. I was howling animal noises of excitement for each episode. Up until The Mandalorian, I was not a fan of Boba Fett at all. IMO, he was not a real character in the Original Trilogy, just an action figure with a few lines. The character he grew as in this series was very refreshing for me. While 2 episodes were not focused on Boba, those two episodes were of the greatest Star Wars content I've seen in a long time since The Last Jedi. (yes, I said it)

I'm not going to sway others people's opinions if they feel different about these particular Star Wars stories. I'm just going to love them myself. May The Force Be With You.

I haven't yet watched the whole series, but I did watch the next to last episode. My husband told me that Grogu was in it before we watched it, but I didn't know that Luke or Asoka were in it. I really liked that episode. The frog part was great. I'm planning on watching the whole series, but I definitely need to watch to see if Grogu chose the armor or the lightsaber!

Having just recently gotten access to Disney+, I had the luxury of binge watching both first seasons of The Mandalorian and the first (and so far only) season of Boba Fett.

One thing that was never explained is why the pykes were killing the sand people when traveling through the desert. Did it have a purpose, or did they do it just for sport? And what was the spice? Sounds like something out of Dune.
I also hoped to get an answer to who it was that Moff Gideon shot when Luke Skywalker showed up in The Mandalorian.

The fact that Luke made Grogu choose between staying or leaving after the mandalorian had left behind a gift was a bit annoying. Grogu was already there, and suddenly he has to decide if he want to leave? And despite being 50 years old, he is still barely a toddler.

I also felt it was too easy for Cad Bane to scare away the rancor with some flames after all it had been through.

And while I don't mind Boba Fett showing his softer sides, he felt perhaps a little too soft when he abologized for using the words "keep an eye on" during his conversation with one of the mod employees.

But these are mostly minor stuff. I saw on the net that there had been some complaints about the show. That's probably because of the teaser where he takes the throne of Jabba, and the posters with him sitting on it. Many fans were probably hoping for some hard boiled crime lord, like Tony Soprano in Star Wars or a simialr concept. But Iæm not sure how such a character would have been able to carry a whole show.

What I liked was that they took their time when showing us his journey from a bounty hunter to the new ruler of Tatooine. Or at least the urban areas. Not all Star Wars shows has to be about planet jumping and space battles. Spending all or most of the time on a single planet makes a slower pace possible.

So far I haven't seen any of the animated shows, so it is possible it has been used there already, bit I liked the introduction of automated translater, used be characters like the mayor. And the hammerheads has always been wone of my favorite species in Star Wars.

Somehow the ending made me think of The Simpsons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adDcPUdOo50
