I love that one too, and I can't waite to see a real good copy of it. Did you all know that a Norwegian is aparing in it? Yes, Donald meets Sonja Henie and she was a Norwegian skating star.

I've heard that Disney usually edits this short. It will be great to see it in its original form on the DVD. ;)

It wouldn't hurt if they'd include all of "The Wise Little Hen", but I'm sure the reason they didn't is that it is a Silly Symphony and it is included in the Silly Symphonies set.

I highly doubt it if you will see it in "its original form." About one second will be cut.

Well, it is possible it will be uncut.

The BBFC states that it will have a "00:00:35:10 | STEREOTYPES INTRO - AUTOGRAPH HOUND", so basically Leonard will tell us to stop judging, because he told us so.

I can't see why they would include this if they are cutting out offending material?

Anyways, I don't know much about the short. What is the issue with it?

FYI, there are also intros to:
00:00:22:12 | UNCHARACTERISTIC BEHAVIOUR INTRO - DONALD'S PENGUIN
00:00:24:12 | STEREOTYPES INTRO - OFFICER DUCK
00:00:24:21 | STEREOTYPES INTRO - PUT PUT TROUBLE
00:00:28:12 | UNCHARACTERISTIC BEHAVIOUR INTRO - A GOOD TIME FOR A DIME
00:00:29:17 | UNCHARACTERISTIC BEHAVIOUR INTRO - DONALD'S CAMERA
00:00:20:08 | STEREOTYPES INTRO - DONALD'S VACATION

I'd say from this that Disney are at least TRYING to cater to everyone here...

A character actor from the 1930's 40's named Steppin Fetchitt makes a very brief appearance in this short. He is a caricature of a slow dim-witted african slave. Very distastful image that was used in several of the disney shorts of the time. See broken toys for example. Leonard Maltin will most likelt refer to this and other such occurences.

THAT explains things...I was very confused about what stereotypes Leonard Maltin was going to talk about for over half a minute for this Autograph Hound short! I thought my copy was uncensored, but I've never seen the Steppin Fetchitt character in The Autograph Hound.

Yes, I consider Broken Toys to have the worst of the black caricatures of any Disney cartoon - but most people have not seen Broken Toys uncensored. I have an uncensored copy, but every other copy I've seen have had the Steppin Fetchitt scenes cut out. That is one Silly Symphony in a future Silly Symphony Treasure set that I will be very surprised to see shown uncensored.

About how long are Treasures sets in stores before they are taken back off?

They aren't taken back off. There's just a limited number of sets that are printed.
