Disney sure seems to be banking on some huge talent for these mildly budgeted straight til streaming movies. I’m not holding my breath for Robbie or Phoenix to sign onto this. Seems like a long shot by all means.

I don't know about Robbie, but I don't see Phoenix accepting a role like this either. He usually isn't in this kind of films.

I thought it was worth seeing once, but I'd only say I liked the last thirty minutes of it. Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor though, he'd be great as Hook. I just doubt he'd be interested in this kind of role.

New that the have offred the role or at least are the ones Disney wants i would actually be really sad if Margot Robbie and Margot Robbie din't gey the roles :( :( :( since both ar AMAZING ACTORS :) :) :)

That's unless they find two even better actors, but i have a hard time imagining which two it would be in that case.

I don't care a tiny bit if you don't agrre with but choose to watch the live action rea,es instead of once Upon a time on ABC. Mainly because i want to see BiG STARS in the roles.

I DON'T CARE IF you think that's a bad choice. It my time, my tastes and MY CHOICE !

I will ALWAYS prefer to see big stars in ionic roles than unknowns :x

That's why i always want adaptations of stuff i like or am interested in to be as big budget as POSSIBLE !

Newcomer Ever Anderson will play Wendy while Alexander Molony will play Peter Pan in Disney’s live-action Peter Pan pic “Peter Pan & Wendy,” sources tell Variety. “Pete’s Dragon” director David Lowery is on board to direct. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker is producing. Though there were rumors of the film ending up on Disney Plus, like the “Lady and the Tramp” live-action adaptation, sources say the release is expected to be theatrical.

Ok, well, as racist as this sounds I like that the main kids from well-to-do British families in the very early 20th century are being depicted as historically realistic white kids. It's just more believable. I am also expecting the movie to be good if it is directed and written by the guys behind Pete's Dragon. I didn't like Pete's Dragon, but the feelings about childhood, death, and love it had all would fit Peter Pan very successfully I think. And I'm very glad that it will be theatrical!

Two interesting things about the casting announcement are that Peten Pan is going to be played by an actor of color and that the actress chosen for the role of Wendy is the daughter of Milla Jovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson.

If you google his name some photos pop up of him when he was clearly a little younger. Super cute kid, but not sure what his ethnicity is. There’s a few smiling photos and you can tell he’s got the charisma for it.

Do we know if this is a period piece or not though? I haven’t heard if it’s for sure set when the original took place or not.

Actually I totally agree with you Disney Duster.. I'd have appreciated if they kept a 'Peter Pan' adaptation as close and historically accurate to its source material as possible. If some feel a need for something different, why, oh, WHY not consider creating an ORIGINAL story instead as the best option?? Oh, well..
