That's exactly the same trailer that was leaked on a Russian website two months ago and that has been playing in theaters in some countries. What a disappointment!

It feels like the same movie as Alice in Wonderland remake.

^It looks better than AiW to me. Surely, the nutcracker will be featured in some form in the movie and they're just saving it as a surprise.

Yeah, by now I think it's all but confirmed that Nutcracker's identity is going to be a big spoiler or something. If that's the case, I'm happy they didn't included him in the trailers. Why ruin a surprise.

I wanted to clarify that I wasn't disappointed with the trailer itself, just with the fact that it wasn't a completely new one (at least for me), as I expected. But I think it's a good trailer and I'm glad it has been officially released online so everyone can watch it.

The trailer made me think Keira Knightly went a liiiitle too far with the voice and it's a liiiitle annoying, but oh well, I still like that she tried for a different, "fairy" voice. Clara seems perfect. And I'm excited to see how the adventure unfolds and the dancing and the battle so, cool!

Character posters: https://ohmy.disney.com/news/2018/09/12 ... ur-realms/

The French ones are slightly different and they have an extra poster of Clara: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... tn__=-UC-R

And here's a special message from Mackenzie Foy announcing the sneak peek that will be available at Disney Parks: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/ ... 912180023C

They're in the BATB style which I liked. Rumor has it that the first Aladdin trailer/teaser will come with the Nutcracker in theaters.

The posters are awesome! I wonder how some of the motifs tie into the characters!

I wonder if Philip will secretly turn out to be the Nutcracker and we just find out later.

Based on the posters, I'm calling it that Clara will be the Nutcracker.

Why do you think that?

I guess farerb thinks that because of the uniform she's wearing with that hat similar to the one the Nutcracker wears in many adaptations. And I think you might have guessed it, farerb. When I looked at those posters, I thought that one of these characters must be the Nutcracker, because it must be someone with an important role in the film. I came to the conclusion that it could only be Philip, but then I didn't understand why all this secrecy about his identity when he seems the most logical candidate. It would never have occurred to me it could be Clara. If it's her, that would explain why they're hiding the Nutcracker's appearance so much.

I'm thinking the same thing because of the uniform. But, someone pointed out that it could be her mother too

Those are good observations and guesses, guys.

But, just so you know, the costume designer said Clara looks like that because girls wore those kinds of uniforms in the military. She never mentioned the hat though, so, I don't know. I would rather the Nutcracker be a guy, though, and be Drosselmeyer's nephew like in the book, right?

It doesn't make sense to me that Clara would be the Nutcracker. The Nutcracker is a wooden doll, not the title of a prophesied hero destined to save the Four Realms (unless they really go the live-action Alice in Wonderland route). The soldier outfit just seemed like an empowering move like how Alice wears armor in the battle with the Jabberwocky. I never took it as anything alluding to something more.

Gosh, I hope it isn't a rehash of Alice in Wonderland .... surely Disney has more inventive storytellers then that ?

That could be possible too.

Me too. I don't mind they are taking some liberties with the original story, but I would prefer they kept the basic story elements from the fairytale/ballet, like this one.

Me neither, until now. When farerb pointed that out, I realized her outfit resembles more the one the Nutcracker typically wears than Philip's uniform and that could be a clue, but I also hope she's not the Nutcracker.
