I think the problem with removing Sven is that he's such an integral part of Kristoff's personality and development that he would basically be a different character without him. Didn't they have Philippe on BATB though? I don't think Sven would be very difficult in that case.disneyprincess11 wrote:I really agree with you about the costume. I'm surprised they're going through that route. To make Olaf work, they need to do a puppet. I'm shocked that Sven is going to be in it more than anything.

There's no horse in BATB. Maurice have a "car" to drive him around and Belle find out about her missing father when she sees Lefou wearing his scarf.
Still disappointed about Olaf. The movie would be so much better without him and they have a change to make it better now. But you know, merchandising.

In the upcoming Cruise Line B&tB show, there might be a Phillippe "puppet":

Pretty sure I saw puppets being used for Lumiere, Plumette, wolves, and Phillipe at least

Re: Frozen the Broadway Musical
for Sven they could use a large puppet like the horses in War Horse. Olaf should be a puppet as well, maybe the actor they cast is going to perform while handling one?

I'm pretty excited about the two sisters having stand-bys (DIFFICULT POWER SONGS! YEAH!), since it probably means it's not an easy role. And I love Alyssa Fox. Glad to see I'll have a chance to watch w/ her.

The stage looks cool-ish. It actually reminds me of The Lion King, with the Pride Rock coming out of the ground. Perhaps Frozen will have something like that?
EDIT: BREAKING NEWS: Frozen will go down in Broadway history as the first musical sold entirely as standing room. Capacity will be limited as to as many people Disney can cram into the auditory and close the doors.

There were seven other posters considered but ultimately rejected. From those, this is my favorite.

What a generic logo. Though I've ranted several times about the character designs in Frozen, at least the logo for the movie is superior.

Re: Frozen the Broadway Musical
thats an interesting decision to remove the trolls. Kids have become really familiar with them due to how prominent they are in merchandising so it will be interesting to see if their absence affects the shows popularity(I doubt it). I do like that they are using the "hidden folk" which I have read about when looking up Norwegian mythology when the movie first came out.
Im surprised that the Little Mermaid show did so poorly, was it really that bad?

Glad the trolls aren't there anymore, but they really are part of the story though aren't they ? They are even in the ride, so bit of a surprise Disney passed on having them included here.
And crazy hardcore pops at Mermaid, not impressed with that !

They basically replaced the trolls with the hidden folk, so I think they will just occupy the troll's place in the story

Re: Frozen the Broadway Musical
If only changing them to hidden folk (which I am ok with but not fully happy about) had made them getter better outfits then the bad-looking grass ones...I saw that design of Anna in the grass dress.
