So is Aurora the same person who performed the song in the teaser trailer from a while back? It doesn’t sound quite like I remember it (or as good)... |

Well, the sound of the videos from the live performance wasn't very good and I think they added some effects to the teaser version to make it sound more spectacular. Maybe that's why it sounded different to you. Personally, I prefer the way it was performed at the Brazilian expo. By the way, here's a new theater standee: https://twitter.com/Lazy_FilmCritic/sta ... 8965796864 https://twitter.com/asadayaz/status/1075128683168321537 |

this looks sooo cute and sweet but also kinda sombre which I like. I think the classic old time circus juxtaposed with the post WW1 era drama is an interesting take. I know most people would have preferred a Babe type movie in the circus and I get that but I think this looks promising! |

Quote: The 2019 Dumbo -- which stars Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Colin Farrell -- will go beyond its 1941 predecessor, according to producer Justin Springer. "I’m excited for audiences to see how we’ve held on to so much of what was beloved about the original film while really expanding the story, the characters and the world," he said. "Dumbo and Ms. Jumbo are still at the center of our story, but we’ve added a cast of human characters who have their own compelling stories about family and fitting in. The movie is every bit as heartfelt as the original, but it’s also action-packed and full of joy and wonder." Source: https://www.fandango.com/movie-news/201 ... ver-753541While the ensemble cast is exciting and eclectic, Springer told us audiences are going to be floored when they see what Tim Burton has brought to the film, visually. "From the sets, to the costumes, to the state-of-the art visual effects and animation, Tim Burton brings his singular vision to this film," he said. "The result is a rich and colorful tableau that feels both classic and quintessentially Tim Burton. And it’s no secret in this film you’re going to see an elephant fly — that’s something that should be seen on the biggest screen possible!" Quote: In Tim Burton’s live-action take on the Disney classic, the flying elephant in the title has a way of bringing out the fundamental truth of every human character. In the case of Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell), the horse showman who lost both his wife and left arm while fighting in World War I, he gets his life back on track taking care of newborn Dumbo with his two children. The little circus elephant awakens Holt “as a man who can trust in sweetness and who doesn't just see the world through the lens of the violence and the inhumanity that he observed while he was away at the war,” Farrell says. “That's a huge thing.” Source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/mov ... 405746002/Quote: “Tim is suspicious of things getting too sweet,” Colin Farrell tells Empire in the upcoming new issue. The star, who plays human lead Holt Farrier, a war veteran hired to look after the young elephant, adds that the director is a big kid in his element working on the childhood classic. “When Tim comes in to give his noted, he is a 60-year-old. [But] watching the monitor, he is just a child. It was lovely to see that level of engagement.” Source: https://www.empireonline.com/movies/new ... ive-image/

I think Dumbo is going to underperform, if not outright flop at the box office. I now expect it to do around the same numbers Christopher Robin did. I've noticed a significant lack of interest both here and elsewhere online. I think it has to do with Disney's crowded movie schedule. No one is going to pay attention to a little flying elephant when they have Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Aladdin, Avengers 4, Frozen 2, Star Wars 9 to look forward to all in the same year. |

^I've noticed it too. I think you're right and it will underperform. |

Disney should have spaced these films out more. For example, there was no need to make Aladdin and The Lion King both debut in the same year, not to mention Dumbo. |

The most I ever expected was Mary Poppins Returns' numbers (I had expected MPR to do better than that, but...). It kind of falls in the same lane as Pete's Dragon, and audiences don't want these films for whatever reason. *shrug*

Lady and the Tramp and Peter Pan are streaming movies and both are Platinum films whereas The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, and Lilo & Stitch aren't but they are getting theatrical releases (as of now). |

I know it's awful but I kind of want Dumbo to bomb since I don't like what they did to it (it's about humans partly instead of just the animals). |
