I agree. There's no way they'd let the people in charge of trash like The Tinker Bell Series put their hands anywhere near a Frozen sequel.

Hey, I would refute that the series was trash. Some say it was very well made. In fact one could say that it was saved from being trash.

The team behind 'Once Upon a Time' should do it instead. They're amazing storytellers! They could even recycle what was done on the first half of the current season. That was a triumph, right?

I don't think so.

I'm being sarcastic.

I'm not sure how OUAT relates to a thread about a Frozen sequel, but I guess some people have nothing better to do than troll messageboards.

But they've already continued Elsa and Anna's story. An avid watcher should remember that. So, it isn't unrelated.

Interesting feedback the sequel announcement is getting ... Lots of people seem to say 'yeah we love the original, but time to have a bit of a break now'.

We've got the first film, the short, the Broadway show, theme park ride, theme park shows...and now a sequel.

I'm so glad it's been embraced so hard, but too much of a good thing ....

@Old Fish Tale: Could you please stop purposefully antagonizing Disney's Divinity? You keep making snide, condescending comments about OUAT in off-topic threads in order to spite him and get a reaction out of him. That's flame baiting and it's against the rules. And you Disney's Divinity don't need to stoop to the same level and trash the Tinker Bell series to get back at him. Enough with the baby fights. Let's try to be civil to each other from now on. Further off-topic comments will be removed.

Yes, I think we've needled each other enough.

"Needling" would imply I began any of the exchanges I've had with you. But, yes, I've responded and I apologize to the moderators/other members. (Although I will say when I said "trash" above, I do include Planes and all other projects DisneyToon has been involved in.)

I know you're not a Frozen fan, so I can understand how that would be overkill, but the cold never bothered me anywayI'm actually enjoying it. It won't last forever. :P

I am indeed a Frozen fan; I love the film. But I'm not obsessed by it, and nor do I think it's the greatest Disney picture ever. Just feeling the repercussions of over-saturation at the moment.

Although since "Frozen Fever" came out this year (less than two years after the first), I guess a three year gap isn't too long if Disney aims for a 2018 release.

It should be fun predicting the box office numbers for Frozen 2 once Disney announces the release date. Since "Frozen Fever" came out less than two years after the original, I expect Disney to announce it for one of their following untitled slots: March 9 or November 21.

It would be crazy if Disney changed out their November 2017 Pixar film and put Frozen 2 there instead.

While I love love loved OUAT's take on Frozen, I don't think Disney should (or would) duplicate it. Frozen is their baby, and they know they have to take good care of it to keep it running. Which means new material. I personally would love to see Disney's take on the "why does Elsa have powers/let's go on an adventure to find out". Or heck, stay in Arendelle and have them exploring the castle and the kingdom for their family history. (Wouldn't be opposed to seeing the 'villian' Snow Queen around either, so long as she isn't their aunt lol.) And tying into the family history theme, perhaps Kristoff is trying to look into his own true parentage at the same time.

There are definitely lots of possibilities. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Q: Would you be open to appearing in FROZEN 2 down the line?

Santino Fontana: Yes, of course I would love to be a part of it. I don't know if I will or not - I don't know what they are planning. I know that they are going to take their time and make sure that they come up with the story that they want to tell that they think will really please the most fans and also surprise everybody at the same time - and, I totally trust that they will do that. I don't know if I will be involved, but I would love to be - but, I don't know.

Q: It could potentially be even more popular, of course.

Santino Fontana: Well, as far as my character is concerned it was all left open-ended - you know, I don't die! [Laughs.]

Q: This is true!

Santino Fontana: So, you never know.

Chris Buck says they already have chosen the ending for the sequel.
Chris Buck wrote:We knew there was more story to tell with these characters. So,we're working on it now. We did come up with what we think is a really terrific ending to the sequel. And I think that's important. Which is sort of what we had in the first one. We had an interesting ending and were always trying to get towards that ending of Anna saving Elsa. We having an ending now that helps us go. We have what we call our "true north". We're going this way, we have all these others things to work out, lots of things to figure out, but at least we know where we're going. Once we had that we felt confident that we could handle the sequel.

Buck has been studying different landscapes for the film.
Q: You say you have your true north but you're down south in Australia and you've been looking at locations like caves and stalactites and stalagmites and I'm wondering whether Frozen actually goes to a warm continent.

Chris Buck: Well, I can't say. I cannot say that.

Production of the sequel will take about 3-4 years.
Building an animated film takes about four years, he says, though "it's a bit different with a sequel because we have some of the characters and locations built, so maybe a little bit less".
