Of course, I didn't mention Elsa because it was clear from the start that she would have no love interest. As for the rest and aside from Anna, you seem to base those facts on your own vision of how things happened after the end of those girls's respective films. I do not consider Elle Fanning's Aurora for this either.

Not my own vision, the official one.

Merida becomes Queen on Once Upon a Time.

Jasmine and Aurora become Queens (before getting married) on their live-action movies.

As I said, I'm only talking about the animated films.

Redadoodles wrote:I actually like Madellaine a lot. I've always liked her design which is simple and yet very effective. Kevin Gollaher (Who storyboarded Hunchback II) told me that Jennifer Love Hewitt greatly influenced the character and that if she ends up being likable in the end, it is really thanks to Jennifer who was really committed to the role.
Really? You`ve talked to him? Cool :)

Despite how the majority seems to loathe Hunchback II with a great passion, at least Madellaine`s character was one of the things that was done right on this movie. She`s very relatable and her insecurity pretty much identifies what most females (or people in general) feel. That`s why she`s an underrated and overlooked character.

Grace Kinstler performed "Into the Unknown" on American Idol last night. I hope she's the one who wins this year, but I try not to get my hopes up when it comes to Idol. :P It's only been a few times that the one I wanted to win actually does.

I think the first year she was on, she dressed like Snow White, and the next Ursula, and then as Mrs. Jumbo last year when everything was remote (and because she had just had a baby).

This movie should be blessed everday for giving us the most beautiful dress in all of creation. My maths teacher said she burst into tears when she saw this on the bigscreen cuz she had never seen anything so beautiful in her life.

Atlantica wrote:The fact that it was the songwriters who decided to weave in the lullaby from the beginning into it, that then made the directors make the decision to have the voice be her mother says a lot. Which explains why I feel a bit like :? throughout it.
While this improved the song in terms of melody and structure, it weakened its storytelling, in my opinion. It made Elsa's journey of self-discovery less powerful and unique. Jennifer Lee should have stuck to her guns and made the voice Elsa's future self. She caved and it was to the film's detriment. Elsa uprooting her life and becoming the fifth spirit because her mother wanted her to is not a revolutionary act. Before this was revealed, I always thought the voice was going to be a manifestation of Elsa's self. To me, it made sense that her repressed or unconscious self would need to materialize in some form to push through her fear and comfort and guide her towards the person she was meant to be. Having her mom be that guide is ordinary and conventional and ultimately hampers Elsa's process of self-actualization.
Redadoodles wrote:I still hate that Kristoff tune that everyone seems to adore so maybe there is something wrong with me but I still think the joke is running for way too long and the sequence has no business being in a Disney film, let alone a fairy tale one. If the same thing was done in a Non Disney project, say The Swan Princess for example, people would for sure laugh at it rather than with it.
Agreed. That whole sequence is tonally off, unnecessary and cringe-worthy. I didn't like Kristoff's arc at all in the film. Having his entire personhood be defined by his relationship to Anna was not a good look and didn't do the character justice. Honestly, I think Anna and Kristoff should have broken up. Seeing him (and Sven) in his element in the Enchanted Forest and feeling so at home with the Northuldra made me believe he belonged there. It would have been a natural conclusion to his arc going from being an outsider to finding a community he could call his own. Moreover, it would have been a good opportunity to show a breakup in a Disney movie. It would have been innovative for a Disney classic to explore such a theme. Saying goodbye to your first relationship is a rite of passage and a coming-of-age milestone. It's realistic and relatable and audiences would have responded to it the same way they did with the "you can't marry someone you just met" exploration in the original.
Redadoodles wrote:Oh my goodness, YES. I really dislike that song and that scene. It tries so hard, too hard and does nothing for me.
The problem with that sequence and song is that it tries to do too many things simultaneously and in such a short amount of time. In just three minutes, it goes from Anna's shock and disbelief to mourning to gathering the strength to move on and complete the mission. It's too much. It doesn't ring true to the emotional response of losing a loved one.

Agreed with both of you. Lost in the Woods was one of the most baffling moments in the film when I saw it initially. It was too anacronistic and out of place. Especially how it was visually staged and presented. It simply didn`t mesh with the rest of the film. Of course previous Disney features had such anacronistic moments, but at least they felt more in tune with their films. Lost in the Woods didn`t.

True, but remember that Frozen II is an animated feature, after all. Since it has short amount of storytelling, it`s not strange that Anna`s arc is rushed within three minutes. Despite how it doesn't ring true to life.

The film is getting a sequel in the form of a novel.

Anna, Queen of Arendelle, has been tirelessly preparing for the Polar Night’s Celebration that is held every year to welcome the time when the sun doesn’t rise in the Polar Circle. She has been working so hard, her fiancé Kristoff suggests she take a night off to visit her sister Elsa, the Snow Queen. Anna loves the idea. Accompanied by Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf, Anna reunites with Elsa in the Enchanted Forest.

After telling spooky stories around the campfire, Olaf swears that one of the creatures of their tales has come to life! Who else is responsible for the sudden onset of storms and the earlier than normal darkening of the skies? Why else is everyone starting to become so forgetful?

Anna and Elsa join forces to determine what is going on. Together they recall Kristoff’s terrifying tale about a princess who turned into a draugr―an undead creature that steals memories in an effort to make others forget the misdeeds it committed when it was alive. Is it possible that Kristoff inadvertently unearthed memories of a draugr, and thus unleashed the monster upon Arendelle? Anna and Elsa must uncover the real story behind the tale before everyone in Arendelle forgets who they are and is cast into darkness forever….

I'm sorry for being so late with a review, for the Into the Unknown series.

I love how they showed how they faced all the story problems, how seriously they took the audiences' feedback about the movie. I never knew that "Show Yourself" has had so many problems, but in the end, it became the movie's memorable sequence. I loved seeing the recording sessions, and the actors in action. I was particularly impressed by Kristin Bell's performance of "The Next Right Thing".
