Not surprised here. Disney is completely unwilling to invest in making quality video games.

LucasArts hasn't been the same since they started exclusively making Star Wars games. They had some strong titles under their belt, but their peak was long gone. Can't say I'm too saddened.

I think they're trying to turn Lucasfilm into Marvel.

Release several films a year based on characters from the SW universe.

I could have told you that as soon as it came out that JJ Abrams was going to direct the next Star Wars. Honestly, as a Star Trek fan who despises JJ-Trek, I can't say that I'm sad about this. I hope Disney does just that.

I agree, just sad all those people got laid off so that DIsney could milk Star Wars.

*Finds out Disney canceled star wars 1313 video game.*

......

FUCK YOU Disney.

Unlike Marvel, Star Wars franchise is a whole other ballgame. Trying to make star wars as the "next" marvel is a idiotic move, both to the fans and creativity, and business wise.

which weird and ironic as the potential they could of done with Lucas art would help make their franchise even better than ever. They're a missing out on a massive gold mine as the Star Wars VG and such are a big part of Star Wars franchise and where big money comes from.

Actually, I haven't bought a LucasArts game since TIE FIGHTER VS. X-WING. They were awesome back in the day.

You know something ironic I learned from a friend of mine that relates to all this? George Lucas pitched the first Star Wars movie to Disney, but they turned it down.

Another two ironies: (1) I learned of the news when I was at Hollywood Studios waiting in line to meet Ralph and Vanellope, and an hour AFTER riding Star Tours for the umpteenth time during my College Program. (2) The night before, nachonaco bought a Star Wars shirt.

I thought they would be showing season six. This sucks. I don't agree with Disney's decision to end the series. They should have just transported it from Cartoon Network to Disney XD. Star Wars: The Clone Wars screams Disney XD.

I thought I heard George wanted to avoid major hollywood studios from the get go?

Those other two things aren't ironic, their just coincidences.

i personally don't care for the fate of this series. I was made so Lucas can take a massive shit on the actually cool clone wars series by Genndy Tartakovsky. Even if this series was longer and had more stuff expanded upon, it still can't beat the awesomeness the Genndy did with his General Grevious.

It appears there will indeed be future Star Wars Video Games through Electronic Arts

http://starwars.com/news/electronic-art ... aming.html
Today it was announced that Lucasfilm Ltd. and Disney Interactive are entering into a multi-year, multi-title exclusive licensing agreement with Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) for the creation of new high quality Star Wars games spanning multiple genres for console, PC, mobile, and tablets.

Industry leaders and creators of best-in-class blockbuster games, the development and publishing teams at EA will collaborate with the creative teams at Lucasfilm to provide audiences with all-new gaming experiences set in the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy. As part of the agreement, EA studio teams DICE (Battlefield series) and Visceral (Dead Space series) will join BioWare (Mass Effect series, Star Wars: The Old Republic) in the development of new Star Wars games.

"Our number one objective was to find a developer who could consistently deliver our fans great Star Wars games for years to come," said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. "When we looked at the talent of the teams that EA was committing to our games and the quality of their vision for Star Wars, the choice was clear."

While EA studios will develop for the core Star Wars gaming audience, Disney Interactive will focus on delivering new Star Wars games for casual audiences on mobile, social, tablet, and online gaming platforms.

"This agreement demonstrates our commitment to creating quality game experiences that drive the popularity of the Star Wars franchise for years to come," said John Pleasants, co-president of Disney Interactive. "Collaborating with one of the world's premier game developers will allow us to bring an amazing portfolio of new Star Wars titles to fans around the world."

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay."

I'm looking forward to the sequels. I would have liked Clone Wars to continue, though.

There was a rumor that JJ Abrams was considering leaving Star Wars because he didn't want to uproot his family or be away from them as long as it would take to make it in London. Thankfully that rumor was debunked

Lucasfilm Debunks Rumor That J.J. Abrams Is Considering Abandoning Episode VII
http://www.theforce.net/story/front/Luc ... 153348.asp
Earlier today, Badass Digest reported that "J.J. Abrams is on the verge of dropping out of" his directing role on Star Wars Episode VII. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you feel about Abrams), this rumor is false. We reached out to Lucasfilm for comment, and a company spokesman provided the following statement:

"There is no truth to the rumor. JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year."

This sounds interesting ever since we had those rides at the Disney park plus the merchandise at the parks and also Indiana Jones stunt show/ride at the parks.

Now we can have a Star Wars world and Indiana Jones world for a Kingdom Hearts game

I wouldn't really count on Star Wars or Indiana Jones appearing in Kingdom Hearts because the only worlds I've seen in the games were either original/Final Fantasy-based or based on films in Disney's animated canon.

... Okay, Pirates of the Carribean and Nightmare Before Christmas are big exceptions. But still.
