Gerber says that all the Disney princesses from fictional settings are from the Ever Realm.
Q: So are all the Disney Princesses from the Ever Realm, except different decades from Sofia?
Craig Gerber: Yes. Except the ones from real world places. Like New Orleans.

Q: After the show, do you have new plans for Sofia and her universe?

The Sofia the First team wanted to make an 'Art of' book but Disney Publishing wasn't interested.
Q: Mr. G, is an art book a possibility at all? Where should we make our inquiries? One for Elena would be fun too.
Craig Gerber: We pitched a Sofia art book to the publishing folks. They weren't interested.

He also revealed why characters don't age in Disney TV shows.
Q: Do we see Isabel’s character design change in the show as she grown up?
Craig Gerber: I think it's safe to reveal that there will be a slight Isabel character design change next summer. This is a rare thing. The Company does not like characters in the show not matching the designs on the toys/books/dolls/notebooks etc.
Q: Really? Sofia the First changed to pink dress and pink amulet since the crossover, and the character with purple dress/amulet remained on the parks and stores until now. The toys/books/dolls/notebooks with the pinked Sofia are rare.
Craig Gerber: It was a big decision to change the "hero" dress. The intention was to switch everything over to the new dress, but the consumer products folks gave up on the franchise right after the dress was changed. This is the result.
Q: Oh, is that why Sofia and the other kids didn't change much despite aging three years?
Craig Gerber: Yes. The Company would prefer all characters to be frozen in time with no serialized storytelling, but they have been incredibly supportive of our storytelling endeavors and I will always appreciate that.
Q: This is true with fairy tales. The Company has another policy with franchises as Star Wars and Marvel. Every little change on the characters has new toys/books/notebooks/action figures.
Craig Gerber: That's because every movie has its own set of "main character art" for the merchandise tied to the movie. Every time a new movie comes out, a whole new line of merchandise. They generally don't want to globally update the artwork for a TV show bc a series only debuts once.
