But this is good. I guess Cars 2's Box Office disappointment played a key role in this. No one wants these films anymore. They should figure out other ways to sell toys.
The Good Dinosaur will fill that void.

And how do you know? Have you talked with every single person in this world?

You don't need to state it as a fact. Sure, the majority disliked "Cars 2", but you don't have to state it as "nobody wants these films anymore".

And as long if it's good, I wouldn't mind a third "Cars" flick.

If they do make a third Cars movie, I am going to boycott Pixar.

I'm sure your one-person boycott will bring them to their knees. :P

For what it's worth, I'm boycotting Planes 8)

Although hopefully I don't get influenced by my cat named Curious. No seriously I named one of my cats Curious, she's going to be 13 years old this year. :D

Wow, what a constructive and civil thread. I'm impressed by your maturity.

And just so you know; Just because I happen to enjoy the Cars-franchise, that doesn't make me a so-called fanboy. I realize that both "Cars"-flicks are flawed, but I still enjoy them.

My dog turns 13 this year as well. His name is Mowgli. :D

That was off topic, but I think there is noone who really wants to discuss the slightest possibility of a third instalment in the series, anyway... well, maybe except for DisneyFan09 rotfl

And if I would like to discuss it, then so what? Is it a crime?

Geez, I thought these boards were for people that would have some constructive discussions. Obviously I was wrong.

It's fine to discuss the merits and flaws of a film franchise, as has been occurring here. However, some comments have been more concerned with addressing the fanbase. I'd advise all parties to take that type of discussion to a relevant thread (if one exists, otherwise feel free to start one) or let bygones be bygones and drop it entirely. There is no need for hostility from either side.

:)

To put my two cents in, I'm not a huge fan of the franchise, so I don't really care whether they make a million movies or three. I'm not going to be watching any of them anyway.

Cars 2 was funnier and more entertaining then Toy Story 3 in my opinion. I really enjoyed Cars 2 and thought it was a step up from Cars. If Pixar can make Toy Story 4, then they can make Cars 3 as well;)
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

There was a survey that was done that revealed some differ options for plots for a possible third film

this is not an official indication that a sequel is being made. Just possibilities given in a poll that I did

Here are the options
At a career cross roads Lightning McQueen
finds himself in a tough situation when his identity
is stolen and now he is mistaken for a notorious criminal.
He finds himself evading capture and racing
against time to get his old life back

in his quest to restore his identity
Lightning McQueen finds himself
seeking the assistance and ultimatley mentoring
a talented but hotheaded Lightning McQueen
impersonator who harbors his own
racing ambitions
Lightning McQueen meets a space shuttle
in this new adventure and blats off into
outer space, headed for the moon. Along the way
he meets space aliens and other hilarious
new characters

the movie will be a hilarious adventure that will
have something for everyone both
kids and adults a like
The Movie continues Lightning McQueen and Mater's joreny
across the globe as they compete in international
races featuring many worthy competitors

in the movie Lightning McQueen must participate
in a spectacular car races and car chases
that are iconic of the brand
In This New Adventure, Lightning McQueen
Becomes a tour guide in the bustling Metropolis City
and needs to navigate busy streets and familiar
land marks

set in the sunny California's small time racing circuit
this movie will help Lightning McQueen ultimately
discover what truly makes him tick as a racer

The film returns to the familiar town of Radiator springs
and will feature familiar locations like
Luigi's Casa Della Tires, The Cozy Cone Motel
and Flo's V8 Cafe

What kind of a survey was it? Was it something official by Disney or something fanmade? Did you take screencaps?

It sounds odd they'd make a survey about plots for a possible sequel. Asking about whether the surveyee would like a sequel to a certain film? Yes. But presenting them with various possible plots to choose from? Wouldn't those be under wraps instead of being broadcasted through online surveys? Not to mention that all of the plots sound ridiculous. Then again, I wouldn't put it past them. This is the Cars franchise we're talking about.

It was a survey I took. It wasn't by Disney themselves, but through a survey service kinda thing.
