Would be amazing if Sergio Pablos was involved in the 2D animated segments. The work his studio did on Klaus was breathtaking and some of the best hand drawn animation I have seen in decades!

It looks like the tents are part of a festival in Monrolasia: https://www.instagram.com/p/CRMaYKjooAU/

There are more photos on this Instagram account, including some that are probably a bit spoilery. Apparently, the palace will be covered in some kind of plants with thorns at some point in the movie:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CRMZuMnoeKY/

By the way, I've read several comments on Twitter that compare the plot of this movie to WandaVision's plot. I hadn't noticed the similarities before, but I think they're right. In both a small village gets transformed into a fantastical place which looks like what the protagonist wished her reality was. I really liked WandaVision, though, so I don't mind if Disenchanted is a bit like that show.
Disney Duster wrote:Could that be the Maya Rudolph's carriage?!
I think so, its colors are typical from villains, plus the golden motif on the top looks like an "M" and Maya Rudolph's character's surname is Monroe.
farerb wrote:Maybe now that Pixar does Hand Drawn animated shorts, maybe Disney could outsource the animation to them?
It don't think that'll happen, but it's curious how the tables have turned.
Disney's Divinity wrote:I agree, it's simply an excuse. I think Disney is scared if they do anything hand-drawn at WDAS, it'll put a spotlight on the genre's death there, cause people to ask for its return more, and they don't want to encourage that talk any more than they have to.
That makes sense. They're clearly avoiding using hand-drawn animation at the moment, so maybe you're right.
Jules wrote:I am certain there is enough talent at WDAS to manage a short film. I would bet that many of the CG animators can do hand-drawn, even if not to the same calibre as those who specialise in it. I am certain their work would be professional and of a very high standard nevertheless.
I've heard you don't need to be that good at drawing to be a CG animator. However, the animators working at studios like WDAS are some of the best in the field, so I think they would most likely do a good job.
Sotiris wrote:I'm not sure if this was already known or not, but Joan Bergin is the costume designer on the film.
I don't think it was known. I wish they had hired the same costume designer from the first film, but this one looks like a competent costume designer too.
unprincess wrote:I just hope they keep the warm toned art nouveau look of the first film.
I hope so too.
Disney Duster wrote:I thought they just said it would have animation. Not hand-drawn animation specifically.
You're right, it hasn't been confirmed yet the animation will be hand-drawn. But if Godmothered, which was also a movie made for Disney+, had traditional animation, I think this film will too.

Oh yeah, that "M" on the coach is a good catch D82! So you're probably right it will be Monroe's!

^Nice T-shirt.

It seems they're now transforming the village where they're filming into a normal village and replacing the fantastical elements with contemporary ones. The palace, for example, is now the village's town hall. That probably confirms Maya Rudolph's character is the town's major. Here are more photos of the modifications:

Do you have a picture of what the palace looked like when it was, well, a palace, D82?

^Yes, here are a couple of photos of the palace:

I guess in both cases the building is going to be higher and the top will be added digitally above the blue border.

Oh, yeah the digital top must really add something because it's not much of a palace to me.

First look at Maya Rudolph's character thanks to a billboard spotted on set. It seems she won't be the town's major as I thought, but a real estate agent or something like that.

Also, Patrick Dempsey's character was called Robert Philip, right? Does this mean he has his own business in Monroeville?

^Thanks, Disney Duster. :)

More news about the shooting:
Enniskerry has been completely transformed into a fairytale wonderland for the last number of weeks.

The town received the Disney treatment as local shop fronts were given an extreme makeover.

However, the town is set to say ‘farewell’ to Hollywood A-listers, such as Patrick Dempsey, as filming at the idyllic location has finished.

‘Last scene shot yesterday in Enniskerry,’ the Garda Siochana Wicklow Facebook page post read.

‘Farewell to Disney, farewell to lots of Goofy parking, to eating so Minnie ice creams, to the Buzz of so many cars and to lots of happy memories for so many visitors.

‘Sets will start dismantling today and the car park is no longer in operation,’ added the social media post.

It is understood that the cast and crew will now be filming in the RDS.

Adams and Dempsey are reportedly staying in rented mansions in South Dublin.

James Marsden and Idina Menzel have also been spotted filming in Ireland. The actors arrived shortly after their co-stars this summer.

However production isn’t over just yet, as Patrick and Amy will now be filming in the RDS in Dublin, working on a series of green screen scenes.

First look at Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and the actress who plays Morgan on set:

Also, some new info. It seems Giselle and Robert now have more children apart from Morgan.
Our world exclusive snaps were taken in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, during the week and it's clear the stars are filming scenes set in modern day America, where they are pictured here driving a saloon car.

The Sunday World can also reveal that it looks like Amy and Patrick's characters have become parents, as not only was Amy spotted wheeling a pram on set during the week but it seems they have kids in their car.

Them having a baby is an interesting development. I guess that's why they wanted to move to the suburbs.

Yes, it's interesting. I don't know why, but it hadn't occurred to me the family could've grown.

I don't like Malvina being a real estate agent instead of the mayor. It makes no sense her being the Queen in the fairytale version when she held no political office and had no real power in the real world.

Yeah ...Actually I wonder if they're trying to spin it around her profession's title: realty, real estate agent...
realty=REALITY...get it? B/c of what she ends up doing to the place. :milkbuds:
