Another Cars rip-off. This one is a "limited edition". You better hurry up and buy it before it's gone.

I actually own this film. It's too bad that they tried to copy the design of the Disney characters as they actually tried to tell a decent story while using some nice animation. It's quite clear that they used those designs out of fear of being a total box office bomb. Last time I checked, it was actually a commercial success throughout Europe.Sotiris wrote:The lead characters from an upcoming CG-animated feature from Ukraine called The Stolen Princess look a lot like Anna and Hans (minus the sideburns) from Frozen. What do you think?

It took me a while to realize that you edited it, that it wasn't a straight clip. I feel so bad for kids that grew up with that instead of Disney's. Don't keep me hanging, though- what happens with the old lady & Esmeralda? She just accepts her?

I'm sorry that you were confused but to be fair ,the editing of the actual thing is just as bad.
As for the ending, Esmeralda runs off with her love interest...What's hilarious is that this film/thing is more faithful to the book than many other adaptations.

Does it say anything above "Princess" in that logo? The logo looks A LOT like the real deal, but the girls are SO off-brand!! What kind of store did you find that at? (Or did you find the pic online?) (I wonder if those Avengers hats to the right are legit or fake.)

I think I may have found the worst Pixar movie rip-off. You can check the trailer, here.

Good lord..How hideous.
This reminds me of how the Italian producers of La Rosa Di Bagdad just traced over a promotional image of Snow White to promote their own film.

Whoa, could Disney sue them, or they wouldn't bother? That's absolutely a tracing job!

Ha! I know that cartoon, it's quite good, in my opinion. I wonder why they chose to recreate that Snow White image though.Redadoodles wrote:Good lord..How hideous.

They used it because Snow White inspired the Italian team to create what is now known as the first animated film made in Italy. The character design work of the characters is also heavily influenced by Disney's Snow White.Ha! I know that cartoon, it's quite good, in my opinion. I don't even think Walt was aware of its existence.blackcauldron85 wrote:Whoa, could Disney sue them, or they wouldn't bother? That's absolutely a tracing job!
By the time the film was released in England, the promotional stuff was different and mostly revolved around Julie Andrews (who voiced princess Zeila) as she was hugely successful at the time.
I think the film is interesting from a historical point of view but that's about it. The backgrounds are beautiful and some shots are quite clever but the script is a total mess and doesn't even make sense most of the time. Besides, there is a real racist subplot (and I don't get easily offended when it comes to these things) that has the main character, Amin, turn into a little black boy as a punishment for a good chunk of the picture.
I wouldn't even recommend the movie for people who just want to discover it because they love films with princesses as Zeila has a very limited amount of screen time. However, if you're still curious about it, I've posted a clip awhile ago:
