I also didn't get a Brave trailer in front of Titanic. Just Dark Shadows, Snow White, that Katy Perry thing and the two upcoming DreamWorks Animations.

O.o The woman is griping about the Scottish government favoring Brave over her film which has ugly animation and a plot that would have been better for a five-minute short. How dare the government favor a film that's high quality in many aspects?Sir Billi, voiced by Sir Sean Connery, is about a skateboarding vet hunting Scotland’s last beaver.
The lady:
Honey, if the government promoted your film instead of Brave, they would look ridiculous for promoting an animated film that doesn't make Scotland look pretty over an animated film that makes Scotland look very pretty.“The Scottish Government look ridiculous promoting a billion-dollar company at Edinburgh’s Film Festival.”

Exactly. The reason why Scotland is pushing Brave is because it is a film from a production company with one of the best track records ever, and it will likely remain a film that is watched for years to come. Moreover, Brave does fit in easily with the image that the Scottish Tourist Board use to promote Scotland. Look at these two commercials that have played regularly on British television, and you'll get what I mean:Sky Syndrome wrote:Honey, if the government promoted your film instead of Brave, they would look ridiculous for promoting an animated film that doesn't make Scotland look pretty over an animated film that makes Scotland look very pretty.“The Scottish Government look ridiculous promoting a billion-dollar company at Edinburgh’s Film Festival.”

I could understand if people felt annoyed with a handsome-looking independent film being snubbed while an ordinary-looking Hollywood film got all the attention. The fact is, however, that Sir Billi simply doesn't look that appealing, especially with regards to animation. Brave, on the other hand, does.

You say that like its a bad thing because I think they did good with merchandising her.Besides at least they have her bow and arch so the little girls pretend they are warrior princesses.singerguy04 wrote:Looks to me that she's full out Disney Princess now.Sotiris wrote:New 'Brave' merchandise arrived at the Disney Store.

Oh I have no problem with it! I think it's only right to have her featured as one. I know others here don't share that belief though.jazzflower92 wrote:You say that like its a bad thing because I think they did good with merchandising her.Besides at least they have her bow and arch so the little girls pretend they are warrior princesses.singerguy04 wrote: Looks to me that she's full out Disney Princess now.
