For me, it's The Little Mermaid first, then the WDAS film by Carlos LΓ³pez Estrada that's speculated to be a musical with songs by the Lopezes, third The Haunted Mansion, and fourth Indiana Jones 5. It also depends on what the other Disney live-action film is. There are many in development, but we haven't heard any recent updates for any of them.

Untitled Disney Animation

Untitled Pixar Animation

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

(if not a remake or sports movie) Untitled Disney Live Action

(Maybe?) The Haunted Mansion

I just can't watch the remakes- I tried watching Aladdin 3x and couldn't get through it, I didn't enjoy the bit of B&tB I saw- (no offense to those that like them), but I'm curious about the new music (I'm always here for Menken), & I am always curious to see what the characters look like, and in the case of TLM, how the effects will look.

I can't say that I'm excited about "Untitled" from either Pixar or Disney, maybe when there's more information...

Although I did watch the previous remakes, I don't care about them and that's pretty much my attitude towards The Little Mermaid as well. Though despite hating Beauty and the Beast, the score was great, so I guess I'm at least excited about that, hopefully they'll release a deluxe edition.

* Although not mentioned here, Tiana is supposed to be released in 2023 on Disney+, my anticipation for it depends on the type of animation. Hopefully not that ugly cel shaded CGI, though I might overlook it if the story is actually good.

Definitely excited to see Estrada's film after loving Raya. That + the Lopezes = a great one waiting to happen. GotG3 is probably the one I'm next excited to see.

How do you feel about sequels? The live-action movie might be Shrunk which is a sequel to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

I can't overlook that. If this was produced by a different division of the company, maybe I could like I did with Tangled: The Series, but having a canonical sequel to a 2D classic made by WDAS use ugly and stilted cel-shaded CG with the title character looking so off-model like it did in the first look image they released, is most definitely a dealbreaker to me.

I'm good with sequels. I can't wait for Disenchanted, I loved Mary Poppins Returns. I'm interested in Shrunk.

I'm super interested in Tiana. I wasn't happy with how Chip looks in the new Chip 'N Dale trailer, so if Tiana looks like that, then sigh , but I'm still trying to be hopeful that it'll be good.

Is it weird we don't know about these untitled movies at this point? I feel like we should know something about them by now.

Anyway, out of the ones we know about, bring on disenchanted. if only so we can hopefully see some quality hand drawn animation. But also Amy Adams is great and I miss her character. I hope it doesn't feel like budget release despite forgoing a theatrical release.

Well, we only just got a concept art and title for Strange World, which should be releasing 7-8 months from now, so probably not out of the norm for Disney these days.

Such a shame the Estrada + Lopezes film didn't happen. :( :( :( Instead we get a film with Julia Michaels... *sigh* Titanic? :? Is that a re-release or remake or simply an unrelated new version?

1. Wish ~ I'm trying to give Michaels the benefit of the doubt--though "More of Us" was not inspiring, DeBose aside--but I think she would've made more sense on a remake like Beyonce and Pasek & Paul considering she makes "radio" music, not theatrical music.... Still, I am looking forward to Wish, what with the design aesthetic, the new princess (just made a picture of Asha earlier based on the first image we have of her to go with my ava/banner set :) ), the fact that it is a musical, Ariana DeBose, a VILLAIN, etc. All great things. And hopefully this film may even be the beginning of hand-drawn animation slowly returning to the studio again, too...
2. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 ~ Love the first two and now they'll have Thor thrown into the mix, too.
3. The Little Mermaid ~ It would've been number 1 if it'd been a straight remake than a race/gender/...superhero??? -bend film. Still, it looks much better than expected from the teaser. I probably would've ranked it near the bottom before seeing Ariel's finished look (referring to hair/bra/tail) and hearing the leaked audio.
4. Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 ~ Paul Rudd is always fun.
5. Elemental ~ This would've been dead last, but at least the fact that it's focused on a relationship adds a tiny bit of interest. Still looks about as boring as Soul and the other formulaic rehash PIXAR films pre-Luca / Turning Red.
6. The Marvels ~ I assume this is tangentially connected to Captain Marvel, and I liked that movie, overall.
7. Indiana Jones 5 ~ I watched the first four for the first time last year and (mostly) enjoyed them to varying degrees, so I'll of course see this one.

I'll see PP&W eventually, but I'm not "anticipating" it.

This upcoming slate is so sad (including 2024), everything is either a sequel or a remake or belongs to a franchise, and the "original" movies recycle plots from previous movies. Disney is truly creatively bankrupt.

It's a re-release to commemorate the film's 25th anniversary.

True, but it wouldn't be an issue if they were actually able to execute them well. But they can't even do that.

Avatar comes out next Friday in a remastered version, so I believe the same will be with Titanic. I'm curious to see the final results. The current Blu-ray release is superb, both in terms of picture and sound.

My most anticipated movie of 2023 is simply Wish. For the lone reason of being Disney`s next full-length musical. My second is Peter & Wendy and The Little Mermaid. In reality, it shouldn`t be surprising that Titanic is getting a re-release for it`s Anniversary. But it`s still surprising since Theatrical Re-Releases are mostly perceived as outdated nowadays :P But hey, James Cameron obviously loves to milk his products for what it`s worth :P :D

THE LITTLE MERMAID. Having seen a good chunk of "Part of Your World", I am convinced it will be amazing. Then Disenchanted. Then Hocus Pocus 2. Then Wish. Then Guardians of the Galaxy III. Then Indianna Jones 5.

Disenchanted and Hocus Pocus are getting released this year, not in 2023.
