With The Lion King's trailer out, I think Aladdin is going to be the "better" of the two. I still think it's going to be bad, but I think I might enjoy it.
Is it really a wig though or is the product in his hair what made it look that way in the photo?unprincess wrote:Why on earth did the give the Aladdin actor a wig? Wasn't his own hair good enough?
Yeah, pretty much.unprincess wrote:So is Prince Anders supposed to be the replacement for Prince Ahkmed?
Yes, I agree! The color choices really remind me of something you'd see in a big dance number in a Bollywood movie.Atlantica wrote:I don't know why, but the costumes for Jasmine are coming over as really Bollywood ? Maybe that's the design aesthetic they were going for. She is absolutely beautiful though, quite breathtaking.
Previous live-action film designs for Alice, Cinderella, BATB, Dumbo, etc. haven't replaced the animated versions so there's really no fear of that happening to Aladdin either. By this time next year, we won't be seeing any merchandise of the live-action Aladdin.unprincess wrote:I was at Target this weekend and I saw a bunch of new Aladdin live action books. There was one with stickers that had these very colorful cartoonish designs but different from the classic animated designs. Stuff like this is where I worry all of this as an attempt to replace the animated versions. But to be fair there is also a lot lot of new merch coming out this year with the original classic designs too, so I guess as long as they keep both around its not so bad. Hopefully they'll stop making stuff with the new designs once the live action film is out of theaters after a while and just go back to the original(frankly better) designs.

To be honest, though I liked the song when I heard the first snippet, I wasn't too impressed. But now I love it too! And Naomi Scott seems to have quite a good voice, doesn't she?Sotiris wrote:A lengthier snippet from "Speechless" has surfaced. It's so good! I love it!

I'm so glad! It's really fortunate how good the new songs for the remakes turned out to be. Evermore, Days in the Sun, and now Speechless are among my favorites in the Disney canon. It just goes to show that Menken never lost his touch. He had just been sidelined and underutilized.D82 wrote:But now I love it too!
I know, right? I still surprised by how good she sounds. Who knew Jasmine would be the best part of the movie?D82 wrote:And Naomi Scott seems to have quite a good voice, doesn't she?
Written in stone, every rule, every word
Centuries old and unbending
Stood in your face that is seen and not heard
Well, now that story’s ending
‘Cause I, I cannot start to crumble
So come on and try
Try to shut me, cut me down
I won’t be silenced, you can’t keep me quiet
Won’t tremble when you try
All I know is I won’t go speechless
Speechless!
I cannot stand it, I cannot be broken
No, I won’t leave unspoken
‘Cause I know that I won’t go speechless
I wish it was more blue than green for sure and I wish her ponytail was more like in the animated movie, but I do like her new peacock veil a lot. She always had a simple outfit in the animated movie that was demanding to be embellished like how it is in the Parks and Broadway musical.WarriorDreamer wrote:A shame Jasmine's outfit isn't a bit more.... like the original hehe.
