I think it's from the movie. Maybe nomad2010 who watched this scene can clear this up for us.
That scene with Raja where he licks Aladdin looks really fake. Is it me or is the CG for this movie of lower quality than Disney's other live-action remakes?
JeanGreyForever wrote:This funko pop of Jasmine (in the bright purple and pink outfit) is labeled Desert Moon. It could just be a coincidence but I wonder if the deleted song was originally planned for this scene.
This makes me even sadder the scene and song were cut. :(

Yeah, I mentioned that as well in a previous promo featuring Rajah in this scene. He comes off looking incredibly fake.

I am kinda hoping they are going to stop making new promo's for now because I feel like I've seen a lot of the movie already.

I have stopped watching them. They keep appearing on my Facebook and Instagram newsfeeds, but I just go by them.

Thanks for confirming! I like it. It's not as good as the original, of course but it's pretty good.
Yes, thanks nomad2010! I agree, it doesn't sound bad.

Thanks for sharing! I'm pleasantly surprised. The song's orchestration and overall sound remained quite faithful to the original.

Alan Menken also sang the first part of "Speechless" during the London press tour. I love this short version of the song too.

I'm surprised as well, I thought it would be in a hip-hop style like "Friend Like Me".

I love it too! I wonder if the 3rd Speechless track on the soundtrack (track 12) will be combination of the two parts. I sure hope so!

I managed to transcribe the short version now that we have video with clear sound.

"Here comes a wave meant to wash me away,
a tide that is dragging me under,
Swallowing sand, left with nothing to say,
my voice drowned out in the thunder,
But I won't cry, I won't start to crumble,
whenever they try to shut me or cut me down,
I won't stay silent, you can't keep me quiet,
won't tremble when you try it,
All I know is I won't go speechless..."

"'Cause I'll breath when they try to suffocate me,
don't you underestimate me,
'cause I know that I won't go speechless..."

^Thanks for the lyrics!

I think that's probably the case. I guess the version performed at the Paris premiere could be the French equivalent of that track. I've found the lyrics with English translation, and it seems it includes the part sung by Menken at the beginning.

By the way, I don't know if it was already there or not, but the length of the tracks appears on iTunes:

1. "Arabian Nights" 3:13
2. "One Jump Ahead" 2:55
3. "One Jump Ahead (Reprise)" 1:00
4. "Speechless" (Part 1) 1:17
5. "Friend Like Me" 2:35
6. "Prince Ali" 3:29
7. "A Whole New World" 2:55
8. "One Jump Ahead" (Reprise 2) 1:06
9. "Speechless" (Part 2) 2:24
10. "A Whole New World" (End Title) 4:02
11. "Friend Like Me" (End Title) 2:39
12. "Speechless" (Full) 3:28

Once again, Jasmine's pink and purple dress is referred to as the Desert Moon outfit so the deleted song was definitely supposed to take place during this scene.

Pasek and Paul just can't help themselves writing generic lyrics that could apply to literally any character.

Exactly! Ugh... Pasek and Paul— they write powerful pop songs but good musical theatre it ain’t.

Sadly looks like Aladdin isn't getting an IMAX 3D release in the UK. The screenings are now on sale and all IMAX showings are 2D. Standard 3D screenings are still available (along with 4DX which could be a lot of fun for this movie).

Oooof. That Prince Ali clip. Not only is it drowning with autotune, Will just doesn’t have the energy and (clearly) vocal chaps like Robin and James (the OG Broadway Genie) to pull off this song.

About my earlier comments about Iago, what I meant is what's the point of having Iago in the movie (besides replacing snake Jafar :glare:) if he's a normal parrot? The fact that Iago talks like a normal human made him stand out from other movie parrots.

And I am disappointed there's no Proud of Your Boy. :( Don't get me wrong. I'm not writing out this movie. Mena and Naomi are spot-on as Aladdin and Jasmine and they have fantastic chemistry. Hopefully, they (and maybe Will) are enough to save this movie.
