It's better than the Diamond Edition logo but nothing has topped the original logo to this day.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
Seeing a larger version, I like it a bit more. I like how it looks as if a sword slashed the letters and that there's a texture to the gold (like a far off shot of gold coins amassed in the Cave of Wonders).

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
I actually think I like every previous logo I have seen for Aladdin better than the one for this film so far.
Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
Small update:
Source: http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/aladdi ... y-ritchie/Legion star Navid Negahban, who will play The Sultan in the 2019 movie, has reassured Disney fans by telling Digital Spy that the film will "honour and respect" the culture of Aladdin's setting and characters.
"It was fun," Negahban said of filming. "It was great to work with Guy Ritchie.
"He was trying to stay as truthful as possible to the story, and at the same time, honour and respect the culture and the background of each of the characters. He has his own sense of humour.
"And it will be something that I think everyone would identify themselves with one of the characters in the movie. It's more real. You can feel it, you can touch it.
"And I hope you guys enjoy it! I had a great time on the set in London. It was fun."

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
I hope the audience feels the same way once the film is released. I want this film to succeed, but I can see a storm-in-a-teapot situation with this film happening very easily if they're not careful.

Source: https://metro.co.uk/2018/05/23/aladdin- ... h-7571811/Speaking to Metro.co.uk about working with Ritchie, Negahban stated the film will have the director’s style while respecting the original story. "Guy is very sensitive," Negahban says. "He was trying very hard to stay truthful and respectful to the culture and figuring out the best way to present the character or all the monsters. It’s going to be a fun movie. I think it stays truthful to the storyline, but at the same time, you will see nuances of the characters that wasn’t captured in the animation film. You will see depth in the characters instead of just being entertained by the story." Asked if it’ll feel like a Guy Ritchie film, Negahban added: "You will feel his signature. You will see his signature on the film. It will be a different shade of him."

What is he referring to with "all the monsters"?Sotiris wrote:Source: https://metro.co.uk/2018/05/23/aladdin- ... h-7571811/"He was trying very hard to stay truthful and respectful to the culture and figuring out the best way to present the character or all the monsters.

Could he be referring to snake Jafar or the Cave of Wonders? Maybe there will be monsters in the film created by sorcerer Jafar. Your guess is as good as mine.D82 wrote:What is he referring to with "all the monsters"?

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
It looks like the movie is going to differ significantly from the stage adaptation.
Source: http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainm ... 80614.htmlAlan Menken wrote:What’s interesting is these live-action films do kind of leapfrog over the Broadway shows. With Aladdin, I’m so happy we did the Broadway show. It’s such a completely unique experience, though, that it’d be difficult to translate to film as it is. That’s why I hope people see the musical stage version of Aladdin – the film is not going to be a film version of it. You have to try to find something new, and [director] Guy Ritchie has his own vision, one that makes it worthwhile and worth the effort.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
First teaser poster was just released.. isn't that usually an indication that a (teaser) trailer might be dropping soon? Fingers crossed!!!
EDIT: Hmm, after some digging, it might seem that this image might just be fan art... Can't find anything on any official channel, and if they were to drop something official it would surely be there. All I can see is that people are saying promo for Aladdin will not start untill November to tie in with the release of Ralph Breaks the Internet, which is REALLY late if you ask me. Normally they drop teaser trailers 9 to 10 months in advance, which would be around now...

Yeah, I did some digging and indeed. Too bad, I had hoped they would start promo right around now, which they usually do 9 to 10 months before a movie comes out. I guess we need to wait for the release of Ralph Breaks the Internet before we see posters of teaser trailers, which leaves a SHORT time for promo, compared to other movies...Sotiris wrote:It's fan-made.robster16 wrote:First teaser poster was just released.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
Yes! The second new song isn't for the Genie as we assumed but a duet between Aladdin and Jasmine.
Source: https://variety.com/2018/film/news/alad ... 202904865/Pasek and Paul have finally revealed some new details about their songs for Aladdin. “We got to write a new song for Jasmine,” Paul tells Variety. “Alan wrote a beautiful piece of music and [Scott] is incredible.” They also wrote a duet for Aladdin and Jasmine. “It’s a sweet song,” Paul said. They even got to write a new verse for the original film’s “Arabian Nights.”

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
Yay! Another duet to join AWNW, "A Million Miles Away," "Forget About Love," and "Out of Thin Air."
The Genie definitely does not need another song—except maybe a short, sweet reprise of “Friend Like Me.” FLM and “Prince Ali” are so bombastic as it is that the character doesn’t need another showstopper.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
That's nice that Jasmine is involved in both of the new songs for the movie. She's gone from only having one song to three now. Was hoping Jafar would get a full song but maybe they'll extend the Prince Ali (Reprise). I guess Menken couldn't get Proud of Your Boy into the film.
