Re: Godmothered
It's a Disney+ exclusive Christmas film. Definitely geared towards families and younger viewers.

Source: https://thedisinsider.com/2020/04/21/ro ... exclusive/We have exclusively learned that Mulan star, Rosalind Chao, has joined the cast of Godmothered, which is set to release on Disney+. She’s up for two roles in the film but she may be leaning towards Moira, the head of the Godmothers.

I guess this movie won't be delayed due to the coronavirus since since it will only be released on this plus and is already finished filming ?

Re: Godmothered
Oh, suggestive comments. How scandalous. Is it me or do movies never get rated G anymore? Something has to be Peppa Pig-level kiddie fare to be rated G. The ratings board seems to have become much more strict and conservative since the '90s or even the '00s.

Re: Godmothered
"Toy Story 4" got a G, but otherwise, yeah, the rating is very rare these days. Movies get PG for the most inoffensive reasons now, when before, you actually had to earn it.
I think "Toy Story 3" and "Cars 2" might be why. The MPAA got a lack of flack for giving those films G ratings, because of some intense scenes (like the incinerator scene in "Toy Story 3" and the spy action in "Cars 2") and the former head of the ratings board even said one of her biggest regrets was giving "Cars 2" a G instead of a PG. So I think there are more strict in order to avoid possible flack from parents. I remember Andrew Stanton being asked on Twitter before the release of "Finding Dory" if the PG rating meant it was far more intense than the first movie. And he responded that it had about the same level of intensity as "Finding Nemo" and that the MPAA has just gotten more strict. So even the filmmakers are aware.
I also think studios have a fear that a movie might be perceived as "kiddie", if it's rated G. That's why I really respected when 20th Century Fox appealed "Rio"'s PG rating and were able to get it down to a G. Ordinarily, they would just accept the PG, but I guess they really disagreed with that classification.

Re: Godmothered
It's a Christmas movie, so probably sometime in November or December.

Re: Godmothered
That's really interesting. I didn't know they could appeal the rating or that in some cases the studio prefers a G. I thought they always wanted the PG nowadays to try to attract teenagers as well as little children.estefan wrote:I also think studios have a fear that a movie might be perceived as "kiddie", if it's rated G. Re: Godmothered
Well, DisneyFan97, you will be happy to know "Godmothered" will premiere on Disney+ on December 4.
So you only have to wait three more weeks to see it and I assume they will release a trailer sometime in the coming weeks, too.
I do want to add I'm looking forward to "Godmothered", mainly because Sharon Maguire directed this and I'm a fan of her Bridget Jones movies.

Logos. I like the silver/gold combo and the line underneath shaped like a Fairy Godmother's wand.

Wow I love that logo! I agree with Sotiris. And I love the magic swirl coming from the wand.
