I'm bumping this thread because last time I posted I hadn't finished rewatching all of the movies (I had stopped around Jungle Book, so I did not include any movies between that and The Little Mermaid). Now, I'm done, and I have a fresh mind towards everything (all 55 of them). My opinions and preferences have changed quite a lot over the past year-and-a-half (I'm not even going to look at my prior list as I write this, so I'm making a game out of it). Mostly, though, I just wanted to make another list for personal reference.

1. Bambi
2. Hunchback of Notre Dame
3. Lilo and Stitch
4. Aladdin
5. Pinocchio
6. Beauty and the Beast
7. Zootopia (I'm probably just being caught up in the hype, but I just can't stop thinking about how good this movie is. The writing is some of Disney's finest, and it's one of the only Disney movies that I've actually felt compelled to seek out fanfiction for. This world and these characters deserve more exploration.)
8. Lady and the Tramp
9. The Jungle Book
10. Tarzan
11. Mulan
12. Wreck-it Ralph
13. The Lion King
14. Alice in Wonderland
15. Sleeping Beauty
16. Tangled
17. Hercules
18. Fantasia
19. Fantasia 2000
20. The Little Mermaid
21. Big Hero 6
22. The Emperor's New Groove
23. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
24. Frozen
25. The Princess and the Frog
26. The Great Mouse Detective
27. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
28. Cinderella
29. The Adventures of Ichabod and Toad
30. The Rescuers
31. The Rescuers Down Under
32. Winnie the Pooh (2011)
33. Meet the Robinsons
34. Peter Pan
35. The Sword in the Stone
36. Bolt
37. 101 Dalmatians
38. Pocahontas (I forgot how weirdly hollow the animation was. Like, the animators and writers cared more about looking "mature" than making the audience relate to the characters' emotions. Music's still amazing, though.)
39. The Fox and the Hound
40. Dumbo
41. Make Mine Music
42. Robin Hood
43. Melody Time
44. Treasure Planet
45. Oliver and Company
46. Atlantis: The Lost Empire (this is actually a guilty pleasure of mine)
47. Brother Bear
48. The Aristocats
49. The Black Cauldron
50. Saludos Amigos
51. Fun and Fancy Free
52. The Three Caballeros
53. Home on the Range
54. Chicken Little
55. Dinosaur

I don't think I've ever seen a more precise assessment of the issues I have with the movie.

Based half on my personal opinion about how much I like the film and also on things like commercial/critical success.

Films I consider great and I like/love:

1. Aladdin
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Hunchback of Notre Dame (really flawed, but when it gets good, it gets really good. for me honestly the big problem is the uneven tone and the humor, the four main characters are fine by me. I think even keeping the gargoyles but making their humor a little more dark comedic/gallows humor would've worked better)
4. Bambi
5. Alice in Wonderland
6. Fantasia / Fantasia 2000
7. Sleeping Beauty
8. Lilo and Stitch
9. The Jungle Book
10. The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
11. The Great Mouse Detective
12. The Little Mermaid
13. Mulan
14. Pinocchio
15. Treasure Planet
16. Wreck It Ralph
17. Robin Hood
18. Lady and the Tramp
19. The Rescuers (normally I'd put this in the bad list, but I love the music and Bianca and Bernard's romance so that's why I love it, even though I kinda agree that the film is a little underwhelming)
20. The Three Caballeros
21. The Black Cauldron (really flawed, annoying bland characters and simple story, but I feel with some reworkings here and there in the writing it would've been a decent film. A lot of Disney films and fantasy stories are really cliched, so I don't get why this one is slammed with that criticism. the animation is pretty decent, all things considered)

Films I don't care much for, but consider them to be decent/have things In them I like

22. Hercules
23. The Lion King
24. Cinderella
25. Tangled
26. Frozen
27. 101 Dalmatians
28. Princess and the Frog
29. Tarzan
30. The Rescuers Down Under
31. Moana
32. Zootopia
33. The Sword in the Stone
34. Ichabod and Mr. Toad
35. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
36. Emperor's New Groove
37. Saludos Amigos (Boring, but i do like Latin American culture genuinely represented in a film for once, instead of being americanized ala Emperor's New Groove or mistaken for Mexico or turned into maids or drug lords)
38. Winnie the Pooh 2011
39. Pocahontas ( a film I consider pretty bad, but the music and the colors saves it)
40. Dumbo

Just bad films :D
41. Aristocats
42. Brother Bear
43. Atlantis
44. Fox and the Hound
45. Oliver and Company
46. Melody Time
47. Big Hero 6
48. Fun and Fancy Free
49. Make Mine Music
50. Peter Pan
51. Chicken Little
52. Meet the Robinsons
53. Home on the Range
54. Bolt
55. Dinosaur

I finally saw Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons. I thought Chicken Little was funny, but so different from anything Disney had done until then. Meanwhile, Meet the Robinsons was pretty forgettable, but the animation was gorgeous. I also revisited Home on the Range. I don't understand why the Disney fandom hates it so much. Sure, it's not memorable or groundbreaking, but the character designs and the music and the story were pretty great. :) I remember, back in 2004, when it came out, there were lots of movie posters all over the place, and I loved the character designs, especially Buck, the horse. I thought the jokes were clever, and there were moments when I laughed out loud.

I like HOTR, too. It's not my favorite film, but I do really enjoy it. Whenever I watch it, my husband's always like, "Ugh, Home on the Range, what a bad movie," but then he ends up watching some of it and he really seems to enjoy it, or at least he's captivated by it. So I don't know how much the reputation of the film plays into some people's perception of it. But also it does have slapstick and some humor that some people may not like, so I can understand why some people don't like it much.
