I'm glad you liked it so much! I agree with a lot of what you said, but I loved James Cordon as the Baker. He is such a fun, lovable, cute guy. He wasn't the best of the actors, but he was very good and heartfelt.

I can't believe it's been 5 years since this movie came out. In a few months, it'll have been five years since the live-action Cinderella came out. I think that's when we first heard about the live-action Mulan as well. How time flies.

It's amazing how time has passed, I still really love Into the Woods and also Mary Poppins Returns equally as well which are both directed by Rob Marshall who I think is a really good musical film director. He is part of the reason why I'm cautiously optimistic about the upcoming The Little Mermaid remake.

In another news article, someone called him one of the Giants of our time.
I agree, and it immediately made me think of 'Giants in the Sky'.
Seems fitting, somehow.

Sondheim was an incredible talent and has left behind so much material to delight for generations to come. He will be missed.

RIP, Stephen. An incomparable writer of so many musical masterpieces including the lyrics for one of the top best musicals ever, West Side Story. I'm glad he lived long enough to marry, too.

Last night I watched the entire filmed original production of Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George. I was taken in awe by Mandy Patinkin's and Bernadette Peters' incredible performances. I almost cried during Bernadette's song where she tells George she's leaving and almost cried again during "Sunday" and it's reprise and the song just before the reprise. I suspect a lot of that had to do with not just how great the show itself was and how great the performances and production of it were, but by Sondheim's recent passing and what they sang in Times Square for him after it happened.
