Re: The Silly Symphony Collection

I can't even believe this is real. How amazing. Disney Music Emporium honestly seems like the best thing to happen to Disney music since Disneyland Records.

If the purchase includes a digital copy of the collection, I'm in.

Re: We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"

Well, the Snow White one is on a totally different level. That one's a masterpiece. (Both of them, actually.) But the other three are all very similar to me, but I guess I can see the praise too. It may be because they were also made to promote the live action version, where Beauty and the Beast was...

Re: We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"

Definitely! More than likely, within a year or two - especially if Beauty and the Beast does well - they'll announce they're doing a live action Mermaid. If so, I'm sure we'll get a book similar to the recent Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty ones, which are both fantastic.

Re: Brad Bird's Tomorrowland

^yeah it's pretty incredible how perfectly polarizing it is. I loved it. Yes, it's absolutely flawed as film - but this is a movie where I can choose to ignore those flaws because what I DO love about it just that great. It's a shame it won't do well. For the record, the audience I saw it with was e...

Re: The Legacy Collection

Sotiris, I'm curious if you are normally a fan of Lorelay's stuff? Like her actual visual development artwork? I love her stuff. I'll admit that she sometimes skews a little close to "too stylized", but for the most part I just love how quick and rough her paintings are, while still captur...

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters

Question - does anyone know what this image was used for? From what I can find, it wasn't a poster, home video release, book, etc. I have no idea what it's from. If anyone could give me any info that would be great. Also Sicoe I don't know if you're still doing this but if so I'd love to have the HD...

Re: The Legacy Collection

I think they'll probably still do Toy Story at some point. Just maybe not till later this year or some point down the line. My question is what will they do for the people that preordered the whole collection of 12.

Re: The Legacy Collection

I think it's too early to jump to doom and gloom conclusions for the line. I'm sure it's not selling spectacularly, but I hardly doubt they ever really expected it to. I wouldn't be surprised if they're just switching things around to release things at times when they feel it is more strategically a...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney

Not sure if this has been posted yet - but I remember feebly attempting to describe the short test "Pet" that Patrick Osborne did before Paperman and Feast, after seeing it at Disney Inspire Days. Well, now you can check it out for yourself! http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-e...

Great news. I wonder if any of them will be animated films, or if Disney's decided to save those for the Legacy Collection. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Disney Plans a Live Action Robin Hood Movie Franchise

I hope they go the "fun and swashbuckling" route, rather than the epic and serious route - definitely would love to see Davy Crockett make a comeback too.

Re: The Legacy Collection

Surprised the reaction to the cover isn't more positive. I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Lorelay Bove at her finest. Sure, other segments would be fun to show as well, but she'll doing at least one painting for each, I'm sure, that will be included in the booklet.

Since when is puberty something that causes "trouble"? Puberty is literally all over American media. Openly talked about fairly often, lots of times in a joking manner, as it is here.

Re: Anyone else using Vudu or UltraViolet for their collecti

I've found I definitely prefer Disney Movies Anywhere. I can watch the movies wherever I am, including bonus features. In my opinion it's much more user friendly and better organized than Ultraviolet. For non-Disney movies, I just rent thru iTunes.

Re: The Legacy Collection

No, it's not available. They just launched their redone website yesterday and it looks like there are a few bugs still. I'm guessing if you place the order it will just wait to ship until it's actually released. Also, on the new site is an open letter to fans explaining what the Music Emporium is al...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?

This is actually very exciting. I love the design of the main girl. Never been a huge steampunk fan (nothing against it, just haven't gotten into it). It's too bad the voice acting is... questionable, at best - leaving the animators with a lower quality performance to work with. But I'll definitely ...

Re: The Archive Series books recommendation

I have all of them, and would highly recommend the entire series. There are currently 4 books plus the flip-book set of the Nine Old Men. The flipbooks are certainly very cool and a fun addition to the series, but I'd consider them more a novelty than the rest. My favorite is definitely Animation, c...

Re: New Disney Short "Feast"

Looks very similar to the test we were talking about before, a bit more refined and not quite as textured though. But definitely still looks like a visdev painting, which I like. Of course we'll have to see it in motion, but the stills honestly looks more like hand drawn animation than CG.
