That cover looks too busy and I honestly can't stand the "sleeping Aurora/Phillip approaching to kiss her" position. The only time they pulled it off was with the 1986 VHS cover.
I think the U.S./U.K. covers are very beautiful.

Re: Maleficent (2014): Official Discussion
Any idea of money it's making so far? I'm on holiday in Spain, and posters are around for it all over the place ! from boxofficeguru.com: Disney's Maleficent fell 44% in its third go around to an estimated $19M, bringing its cume to $163M. It is the second highest live-action film for Angelina Joli...

Re: Question to Ariel fans; Why do you like her?
2. The same reason she gets so much grief and criticism from people on their high horses is one of the things that endears her to me. She is a flawed protagonist that makes a very bad decision to try and get what she wants. I feel too much pressure and great storytelling is sacrificed in making our...

Re: Frozen: Part V
Also there's this whole Stockholm Syndrome/ B & B sends bad messages to children thing going around with today's soccer mums which may pay a huge factor on why Belle is ranking so low. Ariel is far more criticized for her behavior - seriously, just read reviews on IMDB and Amazon and you'll be ...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
I'll 'have' to purchase this version as I only have the DVD 50th Anniversary Edition, due to leaving the bluray (I upgraded most of my Disney movies when I got a player) at an old boyfriends house sadly. And he wasn't willing to give it back as he is an awful person ( ) …. so will pick up thi...

Re: Frozen Becomes The Highest Grossing Animated Film Ever
I think the most accurate way to measure a film's success is by the number of tickets sold. Admittedly, it's trickier nowadays with the surcharge for 3D, but still, it gives us a good indication. And judging by that, Frozen (just over 49 million tickets) is still trailing behind Aladdin (52 million...

Re: Frozen Becomes The Highest Grossing Animated Film Ever
So, has the gross been adjusted for inflation yet? I think the most accurate way to measure a film's success is by the number of tickets sold. I don't understand Arabic, but I have a problem with trailers/ads that reveal key plot points. It shows Anna freezing and Elsa accidentally revealing her powers.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
Aladdin , for example, only outperformed Lilo by around $15 million worldwide—but Aladdin was produced a decade earlier, and on a about 1/3 Lilo 's budget. ( Aladdin grossed worldwide nearly 10 x its budget; BatB around 17 x its budget, and TLK grossed 9.4 x its budget in domestic returns *alone*.)...

Re: Frozen: Part V
Frozen will retain the #1 spot next week and could well remain there until mid-May, when either Mariah Carey or NOW 50 will likely take over the top spot. Both titles are currently scheduled for release on 5/6 and will bow on the HITS Building Album Sales Chart on 5/12. That's amazing. I wish it co...

Re: Tangled vs. Frozen
I have to go all the way back to The Lion King to remember when lines or phrases from an animated Disney feature entered the common nomenclature, or I heard a song from such a film get real radio airplay. "Pocahontas" was also widely quoted with the whole "Colors of the Wind" th...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
I really love that cover! I love how it actually makes the movie look interesting, that way the public will be deceived in to buying it. I'm baffled by people who find this movie boring. Yeah, it's slow-paced and Aurora barely has any lines, but that never bothered me. And I absolutely adore its ov...

Re: Tangled vs. Frozen: Which one is actually better?
This really reminds me of the time Beauty and the Beast was released and everyone was comparing it to The Little Mermaid, asking which one is better.
Anyway, I prefer Frozen, although Tangled is very good as well.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
They're probably going to spend the next decade churning out CG films and after an inevitable series of flops (which will happen somewhere down the road), they'll go with a hand-drawn film and try their luck again. Personally, I was against CG back when Chicken Little was released but totally warmed...
