Re: Sean Bailey Left Disney

In charge of the live-action division, right? Makes sense. Unfortunately, the new guy is going to get the blame for some of the movies coming out the next year or so underperforming even though he didn't greenlight them (like Snow White). But they might give him a pass for that. I feel like that may...

Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion

That picture of Ariel in the bubble (probably a WIP version for the real lithograph) is what I'd referred to in the past having seen in a Disney Adventure magazine. I think the real poster looked a great deal better, Ariel's face looked a bit dopey and Triton and the trident needed some work, althou...

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV Series)

I'd be up for a revival if all the major actors came back. Unfortunately, I'd be surprised if Morrison would come back and she was a big part of what made the show what it was to me. I mean, I could survive if they couldn't get Goodwin back as Snow or even Carlyle as Rumpel, but Emma was the main ch...

Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion

I was watching some of the various workprints for some scenes in TLM earlier today. There was a couple of things in several versions of Ursula's defeat I hadn't seen before. One was the line Ursula makes to Triton at one point (that he used to be so handsome, he's gained weight--lol!). And some of t...

Re: Which Disney movies (or scenes) make you cry?

A lot of scenes really, I'm an easy touch. I decided to go down the list of films and try to remember those particular moments. - The dwarfs crying at Snow White's funeral. - The shot of Pinocchio dead in the water, Geppetto crying after and the revival. - The scenes of Dumbo being ostracized and &q...

Re: Is the Disney Movie Club worth it?

That sucks. But I kind of knew it was coming after the international DMC was shut down. :( There are still a few of the DTV sequels I had planned to get at some point. I suppose most of them are available on Amazon anyway.

Re: Moana 2

I imagine it has been exciting for those artists who thought they were just working on a streaming series to find out their work will be shown theatrically. The thing is, I believe most of these streaming shows that were greenlit some few years back were always going to be done by the studio itself ...

Re: Toy Story 5

I would prefer unused recordings, too, but eh... I don't think A.I. would bother me as long as it adds on to archive recordings rather than all the dialogue being A.I. I dunno, either way it would be good for his family, I guess.

Aw, that's a shame. At least Spider-verse was massive anyway.

Re: Moana (Live-Action)

Sort of makes sense that any new songs they might come up with could involve her. Maybe a duet between her and Moana at the start of the film (or a solo)?

Re: Rank the Princesses Films Soundtracks

I decided to make a subjective list since I've only ever ranked this trying to be "objective." I admit I'm more of a songs person, so great songs/poor score trump meh songs/great score for me. 1. The Little Mermaid ~ Carroll, Benson, and Wright are all so phenomenal, Benson's voice is just...

I would think a Broadway show ever happening is unlikely, too, but who knows. I feel like Encanto will get one at some point though. Frozen, Tangled, and Moana always felt like certainties in that regard.

Re: Rank the Princesses Films Soundtracks

Since only Wish's soundtrack has come out since the last time I ranked, I don't have too much new to add. While I love the voices of Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, and Ilene Woods more than anything in Encanto/Wish (I do like DeBose almost as much as those three though), I admit I have got a little m...

Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)

I might skim through an episode here and there to see how they do Ursula (hear Amber Riley's voice as the character, in other words), that's probably all. I wonder if this show might have any songs since they have a singer like Riley involved? Yeah, Sotiris , you'd think they'd have connected it to ...

Re: Looking For Obscure, Foreign Animated Films

Yeah, reading old threads can be fun sometimes, especially if the images are still functioning. That's where the fun is in following a film from its first announcement to its final release comes from for me, seeing all the little things that changed or that could've been different. I still enjoy loo...

Re: The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki on Blu-ray!

I didn't get this, but I was able to get the steelbook collection for all the films that had them (and normal Blu-rays of the others) over the past two years. Those steelbooks are gorgeous when they're all together. Reminds me of how the Disney VHSes growing up always had the diamond at the bottom of...

Re: Zira's suicide

For some reason I thought he was Scar's son. Or maybe it had just been heavily implied (Kovu seeing Scar's reflection in the water the same way Simba saw Mufasa), but they didn't actually say as much in the dialogue. Oh, well, I always thought he was Scar's son since Zira was part of Scar's pride.

I think the question was asked back in 2011. I'm not sure when Neal last posted, but I think it could've been a decade or more ago.

Re: Turning Red

Is this one doing better than Soul? Good for Shi, if so, but I know these re-releases are more symbolic than anything and that whichever makes the tiniest smidgen more than the other doesn't really matter. They can't really repair the damage the pandemic had on them; it's still nice for the people ...
