What Vanessa song are you guys talking about? I was under the impression that "Silence Is Golden" was an early song meant for the same spot where "Poor Unfortunate Souls" is in the film.

It would seem Pat Carrol's performance of Ursula was largely based on Howard Ashman's performance on the demo tracks and otherwise. It might explain some of the drag queen -like qualities in the character. Not that Howard was a drag queen, but he was male (and gay).

And who cares if a drag queen plays Ursula anyways? If parents are afraid of homosexuals, then the last thing they should do is bring their kids to a BROADWAY SHOW....HELLO?!?!?! Oh, that was hilarious. :) I think the reason they've wanted a slim Ursula may only be so that the same actress can play...

But I'd love to get the "theatrical semi-educational" shorts as well as the Jiminy Cricket "I'm No Fool" etc. cartoons on DVD.

It would seem logical to me to call a cartoon "educational" if it's purpose is to educate the viewers. Mathmagic Land and other Donald and Goofy cartoons from the 60's fit this description. I'm not familiar with other kind of (non-theatrical) educational Disney cartoons, except for the Jim...
