Re: The UK Announcement Thread

Sorry to take so long to reply Chernabog, I've only just noticed your question. I have the US blu ray releases of Earth and Oceans and both are region free. African Cats and Crimson Wing have been released in the UK so those are the versions I own. As far as I can tell all US Disneynature blu rays a...

Re: The UK Announcement Thread

I very much doubt Bears will have a UK release on DVD or blu. We never got Chimpanzee on DVD or blu and sadly, Bears is yet to have a cinema release here. A shame because it's a good movie. I ordered the US blu ray last year, as I previously did with Chimpanzee and Wings of Life, and it is a region ...

Re: Skip the Disney Movie Club exclusives in the future !!!

I am in wholehearted agreement with milojthatch on this one. I live in the UK so the opportunity to purchase from the Disney Movie Club is not open to me. Not that this stops me importing these titles through third party sellers at sometimes inflated prices. I don't gripe about this as I realise tha...

Splash blu-ray

Just a heads-up, as I don't think it has been mentioned here previously; Splash has been released to blu-ray in Australia. It is region free and is available from sellers on ebay and third party on Amazon. Not purchased yet myself but intend to. Hopefully this will be the start of more live action c...

Re: Improvements to Disneyland Paris

I visited last October for the first time in 20 years and had a amazing time. The park is beautiful and certain rides such as Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain improve upon or are significantly different from the US parks. The biggest room for improvement I feel, is in standards. Granted the p...

Disney Educational DVDs

Hello! I used to post here fairly regularly but have not posted in many years. I do still visit from time to time to check out info on new releases from Disney Exclusives as this seems the best source. Anywho, I just thought I would post to give you all heads up on the Disney Educational titles avai...

Son of Flubber

Read this in this weeks copy of UK TV listings magazine RADIO TIMES and thought it was kinda amusing: "Hasbro probably wished it had never produced a tie-in toy for Son of Flubber . A mixture of rubber, mineral oil and green food dye, flubber caused body rashes and sore throats and was withdraw...

So no news of DR SYN? Isn't that supposed to be out this year?

Also, am I the only person excited at the release of THE BOATNIKS? Sorry, but I love Stephanie Powers. She's a honey!

On the RKO logo front, do we know if it is lost or if Disney have chosen not to include them anymore. I mention this because I thought it was strange they would include a 1980s style Walt Disney Pictures logo rather than the newer version (or perhaps a preferable 1950s Buena Vista logo). I was also ...

I tried to order this DVD from hmv.co.uk but it never arrived, rather it went onto 'special order' which I believe translates as 'not a chance buddy!'. It is now listed on most websites as deleted, despite having a release date of barely 2 months ago. The same happened with 'Candleshoe', which was s...

Bambi never had a 55th anniversary reissue in the UK. It was first released on video here in 1994. I do remember seeing it adverstised in Blockbuster as coming soon some years later, but this proposed re-release never happened, so perhaps this is unused art work for that release. Likewise a Disney v...

I saw Lady and the Tramp on its UK 1997 re-release when it played to a packed house (on that day at least) during the summer holidays. Also my local multiplex last week played Treasure Planet and Jungle Book 2 . Okay I know neither of the last pair are exactly 'classics' but it seems to me that Disn...

Heck, I'm a sucker for old sitcoms, I'd go Lucy anyday. Unless that day also offered Phil Silvers, then I'd have to do some serious thinking.

Fables volumes 5 and 6 are exclusive to Woolworths. The reason they show up on play.com as deleted is because they originally had them to pre-order. This is presumably before it was decided to make them a Woolies exclusive.

In case you're interested, the two rental VHS copies released by Disney in the UK in the 1980s and the version released on the rental Mickey's Christmas Carol VHS also in the 80s were all uncensored, as was the film's (to my knowledge) only UK TV screening around 1986/87. The version released in the...

The Small One is available on Countdown to Christmas, but unfortunately it has been censored. Where as the unscrupulous bankers originally sang: "Clink clink clank clank, give your money to the bank, telling little stories you can trust. We never ever fail, when we go to make a sale, we simply ...
