I’ve seen it too and I was partly impressed but also have some notes. It’s very dark, the underwater parts and the climax as well. The CGI is not that good and the transformation parts (Ariel and Ursula/Vanessa) felt poorly done.
Vanessa was a highlight.

I am really excited for this one. Like Idina said in that interview, it's so much fun to revisit these characters all these years later and see where they are.
