Re: Disney Dolls

Thanks for the good luck wishes and compliments! Yes, all Jasmine dolls in the pics are Mattel's -- I generally stick to Mattel when it comes to Disney dolls. It really is a lovely sculpt, the only issue I have with it are molded earrings instead of detachable ones. And I'll definitely share pics of...

Re: Disney Dolls

Thank you very much guys :) I think my favorite Anastasia look is the long dark navy dress she wears to the Cinderella ballet, and I like it on the doll too. And even though the colors are not film-accurate at all, the special edition one (golden box) is also gorgeous and very detailed. https://i.ib...

Re: Rank the Big Four, with a twist!

You're welcome, Duster and thank you for participating; thanks to everyone else as well. Reading your responses, just something I wanted to add to this: Snake Jafar and Genie Jafar – Yup, this one is clever. Of course, Jafar had to be dumb enough to think that somehow being a Genie was a better deal...

Re: Disney Dolls

I’m in the process of moving so I took the opportunity to take a few pics of (a part of) my collection before it all goes into storage. Please excuse the mess and the dust, this obviously isn’t how they’re supposed to be displayed; most of them will eventually be deboxed and placed on a shelf. And y...

Re: X-Men '97

I really liked the first two episodes, definitely feels more "grown up" tonally and in writing than the original show was. Better characterization, better dialogue, I'd dare say even better animation or maybe just more consistent than the old show's. It also appears they're aiming for a mo...

Re: List of abandoned projects

This seems like a wonderful project/resource: Have you ever seen incredible development artwork for an animated project that you couldn’t wait to see come to fruition, only to discover that it never got made? Or have you ever fallen in love with an animated film that nobody else seems to remember ex...

Then you may not have been following his other posts closely. He just so happens to have reservations about randomest of things only when they concern minorities, whether they have been "upgraded" to main characters, or they're supporting characters (like in Inside Out 2 and apparently Lig...

Re: Inside Out 2

Do you even know what you're arguing against/for or is this another one of your "express outrage then think of arguments for said outrage"-moments? You said that Riley not having at least one white friend feels "calculated and inauthentic"; ergo, what we can deduce is that in you...

Re: X-Men '97

Yes, yes, go on, let the hate flow through you  You forgot to add that I don't even have a high-school diploma. Oh, and not only am I painfully unattractive, I'm dirt poor too. X-Men have always been a stand-in for persecuted minorities and reflected social discourse of the time in their st...

I wish you had worked on your reading comprehension before you decided to respond to my post, but I guess it was too much of an effort and you ended up sounding like a typical bigoted uneducated zealot anyway. Please scroll back up to your own post where you initiated this whole discussion by invoki...

Re: X-Men '97

Again, we're talking about a show that had giant robots try to capture a girl who can create fireworks with her hands and a guy with metal claws saved her. In the show's version of (supposedly) 1992. So what historical accuracy are we talking about here? X-Men's entire comic book history is one of c...

Re: Mary Poppins Discussion Thread

I honestly thought it was a made up word, like heffalumps or supercalifragilisticexpialidocius itself... But I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to rectify the issue now, seeing how the word in question has such offensive origins. I'll always appreciate these efforts to educate people/c...

Re: X-Men '97

I'm sorry, but does this concern for "historical accuracy" (in a show about a team of fictional mutant characters in alternate 1990s no less) extend only to gender terms or language in general? Because I don't remember anyone here making a stink about: - the use of word "teenager"...
