La Luna is one of my favourite Pixar shorts. It's not really gag-based (like some other shorts); it's warm, and sweet, and builds to a really nice finish. I can't really say much more than that, other than I don't think people will be disappointed.

I'd say those colours are just over-saturated - that happens a lot in DVD product page pictures. The purplely looking logo is most likely the same pink we saw earlier.

I've come across this problem too, and I'm not sure for the reason behind the non-release, but Sony are one of the groups behind the region system and it's (apparently) quite hard to unlock their systems. If you have a computer though, VLC media player will play any region.

Most directors at Disney Animation these days start as story artists, some as animators. However, they rarely, if ever, enter the company with the sole intent of becoming directors, nor does Disney just hire directors for their animated films. People generally just work their way up. As such, there ...

2099net, can you confirm that the RKO title is indeed still missing (that was another reason I wanted to upgrade to Blu). Yes, it's still missing. It's the sped-up, RKO title-length blue castle (rather than the new CG one). What are the previews on the bluray? None! After the opening Disney Blu-ray...

Cinderella: Royal Edition - first in new DVD line?

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51UBtrsGtkL._SL500_AA300_.jpg Amazon.co.uk has just listed a Cinderella "Royal Edition" DVD with an April 4th release. (The product page can be found here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cinderella-DVD/dp/B004LVP7P2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297635698&...

Disney is about the only studio that puts so much effort into restoring every title, no matter what the sales expectations. Off topic, but wait for blu-rays of the package films or the likes of The Black Cauldron... Seriously though, I do agree with you about the main features, but as miniroll32 sa...

I do have a bit of disappointing news regarding Destino, however. For its Blu-ray release, it has not been given a direct digital transfer . The presentation clearly shows it's taken off a print. It's a little noisy, less stable than Fantasia 2000 and contains a couple of spots and flecks. At least...

I don't know if its been brought up somewhere else on the forums, but I saw this thread and thought it an appropriate place to mention it: I was at the Irish premiere of Princess and the Frog yesterday and heard that King of the Elves has been shelved.

Disney's "The Snow Queen" in 2013?

The French blog The Art of Disney Animation ( http://artofdisney.canalblog.com/ ) is reporting that The Snow Queen is back in production with a release date of 2013 being mooted. Apparently Musker and Clements have been approached to direct. http://storage.canalblog.com/17/47/334316/45393424_p.jpg H...

I completely forgot - in France, all the DTV sequels are included in the list. Every Disney DVD over there is numbered on the spine of the case, e.g. Cinderella is #12 - as it should be - but Cinderella II: Dreams Come True is #74 and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time is #104...

Apparently it's being considered a member of the WFDA canon according to wikipedia. I don't count it in the canon, since it was shoved in after the fact. I too was surprised when it was added to the cannon because I was under the impression that the division of Disney that made it, Disney's Secret ...

My only criticism is that Mrs. Potts and Chip look off-model. Yeah, I know. I think it has something to do with her eyes (?) and Chip is just plain wrong. They're the last thing I did and I was kinda rushing to get it finished. Now that I've actually been called on it by someone else, I might go fi...
