Re: Saving Mr. Banks

I just got back from seeing this and, like Amy said, I've always enjoyed the history behind the Disney Studios - and behind filmmaking in general - so I was already sort of pre-disposed to like this... and I did! Terrific performances all around, and although Tom Hanks doesn't give what will be the ...

Reba's Joanna Garcia-Swisher has been cast as Ariel.

I like her, but I was hoping they'd go with a teenage Ariel!

Re: C'mon People .... !!

That Wonderland area looks fantastic, and I really wish it was given the go-ahead. Maybe in the future. I was at the World about a week ago for the first time since New Fantasyland debuted. While I really like the addition to Fantasyland, I was slightly underwhelmed. I wish the BatB and TLM areas ha...

I watched The African Queen yesterday and really enjoyed it. Everything about it - acting, script, direction = solid.

Re: The Tinker Bell Film Series

My interest in this series has piqued with the recently announced connection to Peter Pan. Having only seen the first entry - and mildly enjoying it - will I get anything out of watching the rest of the series?

Re: Frozen: Part IV

I love Idina Menzel, but that performance sounded kind of off to me. Maybe it's just that her voice has deepened a bit over the years and it's not what I was expecting. Like someone else said, it doesn't seem to fit a young animated character singing. Here is her singing when she was on the Hercules...

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)

Just wanted to mention that I started this show twice before, and only made it to about Episode 7 before giving up, both times. When I was in WDW two weeks ago, however, I just had the urge to start watching it, and now I'm on the seventh episode of Season 2. I don't love it, but it's definitely fun...

Re: Muppets Most Wanted

I'm actually really disappointed by the trailer. The first Muppets reboot was so successful, so why cater the second one to a... Shrek audience? Hopefully it's just poor advertisement, and is not indicative of the actual movie.

Oh, please. Boy Meets World is like the King of Ret-Cons. Cory and Topanga's entire history was retconned several times. :P

Re: July 2013 movies

I like what you have to say about The Lone Ranger, Bill, and while I have never seen any incarnation of the series, I have to agree. One of my friends, whom I typically trust with his movie reviews, absolutely despised it.

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney

I'm excited about HBC's casting... it will be interesting to see her in this role, instead of her recent stream of type-casting. I don't know, this is still typecasting to me. She's done the loving, caring, sweet woman act before in Sweeney Todd and The King's Speech. I expect no surprises out of h...

I saw The Bling Ring last night and pretty much loved it. I was expecting to enjoy it before my viewing, and I'm slightly biased since I'm a fan of Emma Watson and Sofia Coppola, but it was still very good!

Re: Monsters University

I saw this last night at a screening and was pretty underwhelmed. I loved Monsters, INC., and really wished that Pixar decided to do a sequel as opposed to a prequel to that film... unfortunately, I'm still wondering why they chose to go with the latter, as I believe the former would have made for a...
