I don't believe I've given my answer yet, even though I've replied to the thread.

Well, my favorite disney opening is easily Jungle Book's. I just love the ominous theme music that kicks off this little animation wonder.

I'm not sure if these fall under the term underrated, but that's always debatable ain't it: - Mr. Toad, Mole, Rat (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad) - The walrus and the carpenter (Alice in wonderland) - Edgar the butler and the chinese like cat whose name I don't recall(The aristocats) - Sir ...

Not in terms of quality, but the stories and settings are totally different. Actually, the stories are exactly the same haha. That's one thing a few customers on amazon have noted fairly and they raise a good point. Not that it bothers me though, I think it's cleverly disguised. I didn't even notic...

True, Trumpet Joe. I watched Alice not too long ago and those cute, little storybook like drawings in the credit sequence are indeed wonderful. Good choice!

Wow, I just checked amazon to read some reviews and many of them are incredibly harsh. Quite unwarranted if you ask me, having seen the entire film just now. I found it to be a very pleasant film and much work and effort was obviously put into making it. It easily stands out from all the following, ...

I'm watching the film right now and it's ALL coming back to me now. I seem to remember so much of it! Must have watched it more in my youth than I thought I did. So far it's a wonderful little flick, with a super cool setting, some great characters and admirable animation. And I sort of agree with y...

What's UD's opinion of The Rescuers Down Under?

I finally found the dvd in a store today after a long search (is it OOP or something? Jeeze!). Now I haven't seen this film since I was a little kid, definately ten years ago or more so my memory of it isn't very clear. I do remember it being much different from the original Rescuers. So OPINIONS! :)

Wow, I refrained from posting in this thread, but it really pains me that so far only the 90's disneys have been mentioned: The Lion King, The Little mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of notre dame, Hercules, Tarzan etc...has this entire board only ever seen the newer, post 89' films!? This i...

Marky_198 made an excellent point. I noticed that as well. In my opinion the 2006, newly restored version looks awful compared to the 2001 dvd release. The colors appear way too dark and flat, whereas the 2001 one looks almost perfect. I have no idea how anyone could honestly say the latest Big Top ...

So...the new platinum dvd has been out for quite a while now and I was wondering how's the general reaction to the picture quality and restoration? I haven't heard too much about that yet. The new dvd hasn't been released here yet (end of the month I think), but I do have the old, limited edition fr...

I just hope they won't screw up the colors and make it look like it was a disney sequel made today as has happened with a few other platinum editions and special editions of late :!: *crossing fingers* :)

Careful what you say, people!!

It's one thing to say you don't like Pocahontas, ands another to say it's yukky.

Yes, I'm referring to you, Major Fatal Moebius.
And I'm refering to you, Julian Carter, that Pocahontas picture is goddamn yukky. Whether you like it or not. :)

I'll keep it short and sweet. I absolutely detest the art style of everything after The Great Mouse detective, thus the the fab four and beyond (Little mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the beast, Lion king etc). It really rubs me the wrong way. Honestly, I found the way these characters and their faces ...

Your top five favorite Disney Villains! It's that time again

Here are my favorite enfant terribles, in order: 1) Prince John (Robin Hood) - Disney's most fabulous, hilarious, thumb sucking character voiced by the awesome Peter Ustinov. Has some of the best lines of all time. 2) Professor Ratigan (The great mouse detective) - Really now, who can argue with Vin...

Have they actually ever released Mickey's Christmas Carol on a dvd (I had it on vhs as a young boy) by itself? I know it comes as a bonus on the mickey in living color volume 2, but surely it deserves a separate release, it's one of the best and touching disney films ever made. Any plans? And yes, u...
