I've got them all (this year's Zorro not yet, though), even though I grew up in the wrong time and place to know much of the live-action material before buying the DVDs. If you can appreciate 1950s material in general and the history of Disney in particular I'd easily recommend you get all of the Tr...

I always got the impression that the first Mickey Mouse set was very sought-after.

This could seem to be a good-enough deal - if one hadn't had some or even all of the Treasures already.

Could be. Still too bad, though - availability elsewhere never was and shouldn't be reason not to include a particular classic short in the WDT set where it "rightfully" belongs. Good point about Chicken Little. Besides, the running time of the Rarities set seems to be 5:26, the same as Go...

As far as I understand it's hardly a question of "choice", though.

How about a Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar Treasure? How about a Huey, Louie and Dewey Treasure? How about a Three Little Pigs and Other Pigs Treasure? Seriously, there is some double-dipping in the Treasures, but not much - I'd prefer it to remain that way. Just one more set could wrap up th...

I recommend "we" don't ask specifically for more "double-dipping" - the shorts with Minnie and Daisy are already included in the Mickey, Donald and other WDT sets. We basically need one more set to complete the classic theatrical animated shorts. I keep wondering what Disney was ...

My first response: Would I have to do anything in particular with $25000? 8)

But then: Are you saying you can get a house/apartment for that kind of money?

Well I think it is useful since a couple of some of my favorite UD users have never returned to the thread for almost over a year now, and I have no clue why they don't ! True. There's Prudence , Jasmine , numba1lostboy amongst others. And Lars Vermundsberget ! Whatever happened to him? :( Hello th...

Zorro isn't really something I've been longing for in particular, but I'll be happy to buy these as well. The fact that they decided to release all of this is very good, and in this case I guess the slight change of "format" is appropriate. Furthermore, I hope we'll see at least a few more...

Why they didn't release the Silly Symphonies in complete and chronological volumes is a mystery to me....Are there any SS that WEREN'T released in the WDT sets? At the point they released the first set (2001) I guess they weren't sure there'd ever be a second set (and they took their while) - and I...

Buy low, sell high - that's capitalism indeed, like it or not. As for the WDTs, we've pretty much known for years now: Go get them while you can! Compared to the original price of these sets, $75-100 and thereabouts is a bit much. Yet I don't think it'd be entirely unreasonable considering the price...

Whether they're "complete" or not depends on one's definition of the term... Of course, some characters like Chip 'n' Dale and Jiminy Cricket haven't had a Treasures set under there name, so there are still a lot of shorts we are still waiting on. As for Chip & Dale, please note that m...

Just wondering--what Disney movies have had laserdiscs? I tried to search Gogle to check for myself, but it'll take me hours to sort through all the unhelpful crap when I'm not sure what I'm looking for. In short: Most of the "classics" (up until the late 90s) were available on LD at one ...

I think this is quite simple: If you think you want the Treasures just buy/order them immediately. To me they are pretty much the most important DVD release of the year (any year), so I'm never in doubt.

Well, if it's just five seconds at the end where "nothing" happens anyway, I'm quite sure I can live with it. But basically I agree with those of you who think we shouldn't be happy with "just anything".

By 2001 I'd been collecting the classic animated shorts for several years and I had a pretty good collection, but it became increasingly harder to find shorts that I hadn't got already. So when the Treasures were announced I immediately saw that this was basically the sort of release I'd been waitin...
