UK Mulan: Musical Masterpiece Edition DVD - Slipcase?

Hi. Just picked up a few Didney DVDs/BDs in the Amazon BOGOF. Picked up three of the 'Musical Masterpiece Editions' after swearing not to bother with them. But Mulan didn't come in a slipcase :( The other two did (Aladdin and Pocahontas), so what gives? I dunno... it isn't the same without a slipcas...

[UK - Book] Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic...

I just picked up two copies of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kindom to the Movies' in... Poundland! :o

Great price for a pretty good book IMO.

Oh, mods. Sorry if this isn't the 'correct' thread, please feel free to move.

Happy hunting!

Usually they are the same but you won't get a slipcase because they are in a 'box'.

The Pixar ones are nice, they have a 3D pop-up scene in the middle of them (they open kinda like a book).

The one you mention is good value because there are 4 discs in it :)

I hate those R2 covers.

Pleased all my Ghibli discs are from Japan. My 3 disc Earthsea has a lovely foil cover.

I've had the R1 edition for a while and I double dipped for the Pixar Shorts bundle.

I didn't mind, I was after the Pixar Shorts disc (I guess) and I was intrigued by disc 2 of Ratatouille.

Actually, the blocks spelling Wheezy at the end of the movie (you know the scene where Wheezy sings) don't spell his name as on the R1 edition.

They have coloured stars on them instead.

Re: Cinderella Trilogy

I hope this helps someone. Oh, it helps me! I was thinking maybe if there was more to this set than a pretty cover and pretty discs, I would get it. But if it's the same old menus I've seen before...and in Japanese... I must ask, do you know if the Special Edition Cinderella II menus are different ...

here's a pic of a "real" one i bought off of ebay, if it does look like this then it most likely is a fake. http://i4.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/95/5f/8f73_1.JPG Is is this one real or not? It looks exactly like mine. Also on the cover of my copy you can see a bit of the printing screen pattern...

Cinderella is disc 1 of the Platinum edition. II is the same menu design as the SE of II. III is the same menu design...

I've tried Cinderella and it's the same menu design as disc 1 of the Platinum edition (with some Japanese).

I've yet to check 2 and 3.

Hope this helps.

PS I'll try them out soon.

Yes they are, because North America and Canada have the NTSC format. Japan also uses the NTSC format and Japan is R2. If you are in the US and have a multi region player it'll play fine. If you have an R2 player and a multi format TV (which 'most' are these days) you should be fine, but your colour...

Japan is R2 (but NTSC format) Aren't R1 DVDs in NTSC format? You can't play R2 DVDs in a R1 player, though...for all of you who have/will buy this set, do you have R2 players or non-region players? Yes they are, because North America and Canada have the NTSC format. Japan also uses the NTSC format ...

Re: Cinderella Trilogy

I guess I'm a little late, I don't know if you're still around Ste7en , but thank you so much for showing us these pictures! It looks gorgeous, and there's some surprising storybook images there, but I'm not too keen on the aweful picture they used to represent Cinderella II on the back of the box,...

Some, I'll try to take some shots of the menus. Cinderella is disc 1 of the SE.
