Re:

Question- I thought the characters of Tin Man, Lion and The Scarecrow are copyrighted? I don't get that OTGAP can't use these characters and this movie can? Can somebody clarify for me ? :) To clarify, the books are in the public domain. Anybody can create a film based upon the books. The MGM film ...

In the film, Ten Who Dared, I'd cut that brief part between the opening credits and the end card.

Ten Who Dared coming is great news indeed! Have you actually SEEN this film? (Just kidding.... I am grateful it is coming out, if only that the last few theatrical films will get a release, but it is REALLY painful to view.) -Lon (who still doesn't miss an opportunity to "diss" this film!)

Why else can I not download a single original Beatles-song from Itunes? The only things you can get are covers by other artists. This is because Apple Corps (Beatles) sued Apple (computers) over the name. The agreement was that Apple (computers) could use the name if they didn't get into sound. App...

So we've seen Masterpiece, Gold, Platinum. What'you think they'll name the next collection? There's still crystal, bronze, silver, sterling silver($100 each), and Mastalonzeroltinum. Why stop there? Couldn't we just as easily have linoleum, Velcro, or medium-density fiberboard editions? The possibi...

Does the story even make sense that way? Wouldn't that be like removing the dwarfs from Snow White?

Isn't there two version of the Wizard of Oz opening/ending sequences where one is black and white and the other has a more sepia tone? Or am I just thinking of something totally different. Actually, the original is in sepia colors. The television prints were in black and white. In effect, it was th...

They are going in the written order of the books and not necessarily the chronological one that some genius decided to change it to in the 90s. That "genius" would be the author C.S. Lewis himself, speaking from the grave. He attempted to have the original publisher change the order to re...

I'm pleased to see that Leonard Maltin appears to have been interested in the 3D films. I have thought that this would make a good set since they started releasing Treasures. As a general rule, we try to limit spending for school supplies to no more than 25% of our total salary. (Gotta love "No Child Left a Dime"!)

Re: Monkey's Uncle - what's the hold-up?

Disney's pretty much abandoned releasing live-action catalogue titles unless it's a tie-in to a new movie (such as National Treasure ), or if it's in the Treasures Series, or if it's through Disney Movie Club. Darn, does that mean we never get Ten Who Dared? :D I'll never be able to get good restfu...

11. All cartoon ducks inevitably speak with a speech impediment.

12. Goofy Gymnastics evidentally had a very early prescreening, two full years before its 1949 general release.
