Re: Cinderella Discussion

Going back to the conversation of actresses and which ones inspired the Disney Princesses, it turns out that Snow White did have a specific inspiration after all. Walt modeled her after Janet Gaynor. https://www.instagram.com/p/CC3wzPcIpcx/ The same Instagram user also has a mockup of Joan Crawford ...

I wonder if Billy Dee Williams will be involved since he did say after TROS was released that this wasn't the last we would see of him.

The old colors feel very European in tone...the new ones seem inspired by Baywatch with Belle's red hair and tanned skin. I really wish there was a proper fan restoration of this film which brought back the original colors.

Re: James Cameron & Fox Expand the Worlds of "Avatar"

I was actually quite looking forward to an Avatar sequel even though the first one isn't exactly a favorite film of mine. I wanted to see what Cameron would come up with next. It feels like the only news about this film is always that it's getting delayed over and over although at least it has a leg...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I agree--I've always assumed Ursula made herself look like Ariel on purpose. I always thought that as well. Especially since Eric's memory of his mermaid savior was when the sunlight was pouring over her so her hair even looks like it could be brown like Vanessa's. Not to mention, many speculated t...

That's to be expected. It feels like we'll never get an Avatar sequel at this rate though with all the delays.

Re: Miscellaneous Film/TV Discussion

I wouldn't say Owl is really all that proper and he's only "classy" in the sense that he's British and a know-it-all even though he doesn't really know anything.

Re: Miscellaneous Film/TV Discussion

I can't even remember the song "So Long." I'll have to google that. I haven't heard of The Odd Couple either but Rabbit is very stuffy and uppity about rules, although classy and proper wouldn't really apply to anyone in the 100 Acre Wood.

That's the Blu-Ray transfer if I'm correct. Looks awful especially compared to those screenshots you posted. Alice in that bright blue dress and sunshine yellow hair especially sticks out.

Re: Pocahontas 20th Anniversary

Disney has cut some pretty famous songs from their animated films, such as ‘If I Never Knew You” from Pocahontas. “The songs that we cut actually felt like they needed to be cut. It was unfortunate because there were some great songs.” She shared that the song was cut because test audiences laughed...

I'm glad you liked Rear Window after all! And I liked the nurse a lot as well, I think she was my favorite character! I'm glad you enjoyed Winnie the Pooh as well. Personally I don't think it's as charming as the original. The characters feel a bit modernized in personality and a little too mean-spi...

Re: "Glee" Discussion

^ If she had been in the running and got the part, she'd have had enough time away from Glee to train and film it? I can imagine that she'd be a good Katniss, too. I'm guessing she would have just been written out of Glee (like many of the other original cast members were) and would just occasional...

Re: Alice In Wonderland 60th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray in

I think the Alice in Google Play is the DVD master only in 1080p. Google Play also has the previous HD version of The Sword in the Stone, the one which is 1.33. Yes, it does resemble the DVD although I'm not sure if it's 100% the same (just in HD) just from looking at it. That would be a pity if th...

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)

I don't know, there's a lot of junk on Disney+. Some of the early Disney Channel films for example won't have much of an audience but Disney is afraid of a dearth of material so they've been trying to include as much content as possible, which was also an incentive to purchase Fox. Some of the shor...

Re: Favorite Disney Animated Classic from the 60s?

That reminds me of how Bobby Driscoll clearly sounds like a teenager as Peter Pan. As much as I love Driscoll's early films, he was miscast for Peter Pan. A few years too late to play the role. To me at least, Disney's Peter Pan looks like a teenager, so the voice matches the look...were you meanin...

Pollyanna is a gem of a film. I'll admit that I rank The Moon-Spinners so highly (even above The Parent Trap) because I...

I consider Fantasia 2000 more of a 2000 film as well especially since the film purposefully had its general release right when the new millennium began. I think it was exactly at midnight.

Re: Best Disney movie of the 1950s?

There was even Disney Villains merch in the early 90s which didn't include Gaston with the other villains but used the Beast instead since that's what audiences expected from the opening of the film. That's very curious. Do you think they did that to avoid spoiling Gaston's "twist"? I gue...
