Re: A Muppet Christmas Carol

As Henson explains, the scene’s original film negative is required to restore it, and Disney has been unable to locate the footage, much to the director’s consternation. “They always say, ‘It’ll show up. Negatives never permanently get lost, they just get put in the wrong place,’” he says. “For yea...

Re: WDAS Short Circuit

Is it confirmed there's going to be a new batch? I LOVED this and would like to see it as a continuing showcase for the animation department, with different styles and techniques not used in the full length films (sadly). Jing Hua was my favorite, such beautiful animation, but many of them were cute...

I forgot about this insane thread. It's even more disturbing to read in a post-Trump world. Gee...I wonder who Angeldude voted for

Re: Olaf's Frozen Adventure (2017)

LOL, all of my friends absolutely despised this. A lot of people are truly sick of Frozen and they thought it was way too long for a short. I thought it was cute and the music was pretty good though. It put me in a holiday mood, and I could see myself adding it to my annual holiday season viewings. ...

Re: Pixar's Coco

Agreed completely. I'm honestly caught off guard by how much I adored this film considering I wasn't that excited to see it. Easily the best Pixar movie in at least 10 years...but it's quite possibly my favorite ever. It's a simple story but they made it absolutely perfect. A genuinely touching, cle...

Re: Lasseter Sexually Assaulted Women

Lasseter should be finished now that this is coming out. Apparently it was a pretty open secret in the animation community and it was only a matter of time until it trickled out to the public. That time is now. I have to say I do think it's in poor taste to find personal enjoyment in this right now ...

So after Coco, there's no original WDAS/Pixar film for 3 years?

And this is obviously being completely revamped again so there are no guarantees.

What a disaster

Re: Oscar for Best Animated Feature 2017

Horrible rule change. It was always nice seeing lesser known foreign/indie/2D animation getting honored with surprise nominations.

The whole point of this category is dead now.

I'm sorry that persecuted minority groups fighting for equality and asking to be treated with basic human decency bothers you so much. I suppose they should just keep quiet and know their place instead of trying to change the world for the better  Celebrities aren't robots built for your enter...

I wish this had more songs like Galavant, or even the usual one per episode of Elena of Avalor.

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation

I won't mince words, OP is clearly an awful bigot. Like what is this even: Auli'i Cravalho (From Disney's Moana) is going to be starring in a show dealing with the "diversity" of teenagers, she even mentioned LGBT Taking a role in a tv show that happens to have a diverse cast is considered...

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion

After listening to the soundtrack, Emma Watson remains the weak link and she's the lead role. What were you thinking Disney?! Most of the others sound decent enough. Thank goodness for Audra McDonald. My interest piqued during the new songs. Evermore sounds like a dramatic moment in the f...

Re: Tangled: The Series

This was actually very good for what it is. The animation was surprisingly lovely and dynamic. I'm sure it'll be a little cheaper for the actual tv series, but it looked great for this. Even the action scenes were well done. I loved the night time animation. Having the original voice cast adds a lot...

Re: New DuckTales coming to Disney XD in 2017

I kinda liked it  It's not the classic but we knew that already. I expected worse for the animation and it seems like they're at least keeping the adventure aspect of it. I'll definitely give it a try.

Re: Moana

Well it was a decent hit for a studio that's often been in shambles and relying on their established franchises recently. It made more money domestically than Kung Fu Panda 3, though less worldwide.

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion

Notice they don't show Emma Watson singing in that cast recording B-roll video. I can't imagine how horrendous she sounded without the studio touchups. The reactions from the premiere on twitter seem a little mixed, but leaning positive. The songs, production design, and *MAGIC* are being praised, b...

Re: Moana

Good for Auli'i getting cast in something already. Given the talent involved, there's a pretty strong chance it gets picked up: 16-year-old Moana star Auli’i Cravalho, who wowed the Oscar audiences with her performance of nominated song “How Far I’ll Go” last night, has been tapped for a lead role i...

Re: Moana

Yeah, I don't know if FANS would just accept that it lost to "a better song" People here have been saying La La Land was always the favorite from the beginning so I don't think there's a surprise. Sure there was a chance of vote splitting with it having two nominations, but City of S...
