UltimateDisney.com: The Ultimate Guide to Disney DVD
AUGUST 1-15, 2003: NEWS ARCHIVES
August 15, 2003 - Apparently, there will only be one Platinum Edition released next year (Aladdin), and the bi-yearly March & October schedule will take effect in 2005. From DVDFile's Special Report on The Lion King with producer Don Hahn, and Disney execs Gordon Ho and Andy Fiditsky:
Will you ever be adding any titles to the original ten selected for the Platinum Edition treatment, such as Lilo & Stitch or any Pixar titles?
Gordon Ho: Right now, as plans are solidified we will make announcements. But there has been no plans for announcements in the area of a title like Lilo & Stitch or one like that. You'll have to wait and see.
The whole article is interesting and very much worth a read. In other news, we added disc art for Holes and George of the Jungle 2 to Upcoming DVD Art.
August 14, 2003 - Just added 5 large colorful stills of Stitch! The Movie.
August 13, 2003 - Jeff just posted a great find on the Forum. The Disney Movie Club is now offering a multi-pack of all 4 Wave 1 Walt Disney Treasure Tins (Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Silly Symphonies, Davy Crockett, and Disneyland USA) to members for around $126 shipped. The tins are not available for sale separately, or at any stores, as they've been out-of-print and commanding high eBay dollar for nearly two years now. If you're already a member, check out the Multi-packs section of the site. If you're not a member now is as good a time as any to join - this multi-pack counts towards your commitment and this unique offer sweetens the already-worthwhile deal. Supplies, of course, are limited. Disney Movie Club. Join Now!
