Well, I've just started to upgrade some of my Disney collection to DVD and 2004 has been a stellar year to start, to an extent. The problem is, due to the b****rds at BVHE UK, I've not been able to get some of my favourites like Mary Poppins: 40th Anniversary Edition or Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition, so I've been a bit unfortunate in that regard (although I'm actually able to pick up the former next year). Hopefully I'll soon be able to import DVDs, so I won't have to wait longer for vastly inferior editions (Alice in the UK is going to be a 1 Disc edition Mad ).

Anyway, I was able to get Aladdin, which I'm thoroughly happy about as it was a super DVD after the slightly disappointing Lion King DVD.

Plus, this is a wonderful idea! I love it. Very Happy

I love seeing what what DVD's certain sites rank as best of the year, so I'm glad this site is doing the same. I like how each type of release is separated into their own lists since we all know something like Freaky Friday can't compete DVD-wise with Aladdin. I can't wait till we hit the double discers and animated classics.

Wonderful start, Luke! It did well to remind me that I still have to pick up The Ugly Dacshund and at least check out Darby O'Gill. I agree with Disneykid - good choice on seperating the release types. Can't wait for the next update.

Of those five top catalogue movies mentioned I have seen 4/5. I've never seen 'The Ugly Dachshund'.

'Darby O'Gill and the Little People' is one great movie and I'd love to see it again. I might even pick it up if I see it on Boxing Day at the mall. I really like the original 'Freaky Friday' too but I have it taped from TV so I'm good for now. It's good but not on my list to buy yet. I would enjoys eeing 'The Three Lives of Thomasina' and 'The Black Hole' again but I won't buy them.

Of the others listed I would love to see 'Return to Oz' soooo much. I haven't seen it since I was in grade school so basically just under a decade ago. I believe the last time I saw it was around grade 7 or 8 at Christmas time in the gymnasium.

I really want to see 'Watcher in the Woods' too. To be honest I don't know if I've ever seen it. It looks so interesting and while I've known about the movie for years I just can't recall ever watching it. But then again I'll end up watching it and it'll all come rushing back and I'll go "Oh I saw that movie when I was five." It's happened before. Usually I have a pretty good memory but it faisl me at times. Razz
