Different characters, same voice

Post by AwallaceUNC »

I thought this might be something everyone would enjoy. We all know that Disney has a habit of using the same voice actors for their characters in multiple films, so every day, I'll post here Disney characters who were all voiced by the same actor, and who that actor was. Day 1...

Kathryn Beaumont

Alice - Alice In Wonderland
Wendy - Peter Pan

Oh this is really cool! I have noticed this too in Disney movies. Like the Fairly Godmother Cinderella
Flora in Sleeping Beauty,
Matriarch (Elephant) Dumbo,
Elephant Jungle Book,
Aunt Sarah Lady and the Tamp,
Queen of Hearts Alice in Wonderland,
Verna Felton She has been in 6 Disney movies! I would love to be a voice in a Disney Movie!

Well I suppose there is the really obvious one of Sterling Holloway, who is most famous for Winnie the Pooh, but also did:
Dumbo (1941) (uncredited) (voice) .... Mr. Stork
Bambi (1942) (uncredited) (voice) .... Flower (adult)
Alice in Wonderland (1951) (voice) .... Cheshire Cat
Jungle Book (1967) (voice) .... Kaa
Aristocats (1970) (voice) .... Roquefort the Mouse

He also narrated all of the following:
Three Caballeros (1944) .... Narrator for 'The Cold-Blooded Penguin'/Professor Holloway
Make Mine Music (1946) (voice) .... Narrator (segment "Peter and the Wolf")
Mickey and the Beanstalk (1947)

and was in a number of shorts.

Jim Cummings now takes on similar roles for sequels etc.

Bill Thompson was one of the more recognized v/a's at the Disney Studios who worked on numerous feature films.

He was cast in 'Alice In Wonderland' as The White Rabbit and Dodo. 'Peter Pan' as Mr. Smee and various other pirates. 'Lady & The Tramp' as several of the dogs and policeman character. 'Sleeping Beauty' as King Hubert and 'The Aristocats' as Uncle Waldo as well as many other minor rolls I'm sure I missed and an extensive ammount of animated shorts.

Most distinctly, as his return character Ranger Woodlore in the Humphrey and Donald Duck cartoons.

He also did voice casting for various Hanna-Barbera and MGM projects too.

Eva Gabor also voiced Bianca in The Rescuers Downunder, or has that already been mentioned?

Tress MacNeill (sp?)

She does more TV work than Movies, but I always recognize her voice.

House of Mouse- Daisy Duck
Cinderella II- Anastasia

There are several others as well, but I don't know them off the top of my head

I was watching a Disney classic the other day and thought I heard the voice of the "Love to Laugh" guy from Mary Poppins, but I can't remember what movie it was.
