A SEQUEL to the blockbuster Disney-Pixar movie Brave is on the cards - once the film-makers find a good enough storyline.

The Oscar-winning director of the film set in the Scottish Highlands signalled a follow-up was likely thanks to the success and marketing campaign which came out of last year’s fantasy adventure.

Uh... No. Just... No.

Merida's one of the first "I don't need a man to be happy!" kind of princess. And no, Mulan doesn't count because she legitimately isn't a princess. And don't you dare use the 'Princess line' to back up your claim of her being a princess! :P

Meh, not gonna happen any time soon. Need I remind you we were told the same about the incredibles. Sure they'll toss some ideas around but they won't follow through with anything.

I thought this was already mentioned in the Brave thread recently? More people will probably hear the news this way though.

Why does everyone hate on Merida so much... Is it the 5 year old girl in you telling you she's not as pretty as the other Princesses and because she's... GINGER?! :herc: :P

I hate that sequels are mentioned after every single movie. :(
I get that some people want to see more of their favorite characters, and that the studio is almost guaranteed to make money, but I think they should be used more sparingly. For example, The Incredibles is one movie that actually screams for a sequel. Brave does not. I don't think Tangled does either. Nor Monsters, Inc. Nemo maybe.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this does not happen. I liked Brave, but leave it alone.

I have lost faith in Pixar since Cars 2 was released. I will still see their movies, but I am not as devoted as I once was. Monsters University looks passable, though I have a feeling it will have some element that will ultimately cause it to fall flat on its face. This rumored Brave sequel is just further proof that Pixar is indeed losing its way. Nobody really cared for the first Brave (it barely made its money back and the reviews weren't exactly glowing), so what was it that motivated them to say "Brave needs a sequel. Let's get started on that immediately!"

Nothing because that hasn't happened. The title of the article is misleading, it makes it sound like a sequel is imminent when Mark Andrews says that he doesn't know if there will be one but it would be fun for him to work with the cast and crew again if the opportunity presented itself and it was a story worth doing. The title says a sequel is "on the cards" but Mark Andrews says nothing like that, he says he is working on an original film he is writing and directing himself so Brave 2 doesn't sound like it's happening any time soon.

Its pretty rare that you don't hear people involved in a movie say a sequel would be fun if asked about it. Didnt we also hear disney say this about Tangled? Completely meaningless folks.

I hate Merida because she's a selfish brat not because of her ginger hair. I adore her wavy locks, but imho her attitude and persona stinks. Plus she's a Pixar chick and not really Disney. That space could of been filled by the animal- loving Jane, the relatable Meg, or the justice spirit Esmeralda, imo Disney girls who deserve the Princess spotlight and attention so much more than bratty Ginger.

And yeah they're not Princesses but neither is Mulan.
