Which "rating" must our messages conform to?

Post by Jackoleen »

Dear Moderators,

I haven't been here for very much time, and I'm already considered to be a controversial revolutionary! Wow!

I've already read the guidelines of decency, but they're none too specific...I realize that any fool knows that a newbie shouldn't post text or images that are literally pornographic, but I don't know exactly what IS allowed.

I'd like to know exactly which "rating" our messages must conform to? Are we allowed to admit that we've crushed on certain Disney characters? Are we allowed to say that we've fantasized about certain Disney characters? Are we allowed to say that we crushed on cast members when they were dressed as certain characters?

I can swear that I haven't made any statements that were any more graphic than those that I discussed above...I don't know...If someone admits that they're turned on by a Disney character (without going into pornographic details), should they be told to be more proper?

I'll conform to the rules, if they do not allow the types of statements that I described above, but I'd really like to know exactly what is, and what isn't, allowed.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

I'm not a mod, but I've been here long enough to think I can answer the question...

It's generally a case of asking yourself "Is this something that a minor can read/see?" This is a Disney forum after all, and so it's preferred - even if it's not explicitly stated - for things to generally remain PG or even a low PG-13. While the minimum age to be allowed to post is 13, it's known that there are readers who are younger that still read the forums. Keep them in mind when making posts and comments. Like the guidelines say: "Use your best judgment in posting."

There are threads about that, but tread carefully in them. In the past, posts that have been considered too graphic have been edited by the mods, and again, regulars know to keep it clean when possible (though some generally don't give a damn and use the S/F words anyway).
