I thought John Legend did very well, it was Ariana who was the problem. It would be funny if Selena does end up doing a better job with AWNW than she did with B&tB considering Selena can't sing worth a sh*t, lllol.DisneyJedi wrote: Gotta agree. And I hate to admit it, but I feel like Ariana and John's take on Beauty and the Beast was more like a Diet version of Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's version.

I loved the Ariana Grande and John Legend version. And I thought Ariana was the better one in that one.

Yeah, I felt like Ariana and John's version trying to copy Celine and Peabo's version, but it feels like a very inferior remake, which I suppose is pretty apt.DisneyJedi wrote:Gotta agree. Hope this is true, especially since I've come to love Selena's voice since she's shed her Disney Channel days.
Was hoping we'd get a picture or sneak peek of the shoot.Sotiris wrote:Source: https://twitter.com/NaomiScott/status/9 ... 1317769217Naomi Scott wrote:Wrap day today. What an incredible 6 months. I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every second. Love to my cast and crew, it’s been a pleasure.

^I don't understand why the media is reporting it as new information. Disney officially announced this in September 2017.

Oh, good, I loved every song in The Greatest Showman! But I didn't know Alan Menken worked on the music with others like that!

Same. I actually didn't care much for the movie itself, finding it trite and predictable, but each song sequence was incredible, both to listen to as well as to see on screen.Disney Duster wrote:Oh, good, I loved every song in The Greatest Showman! Re: Aladdin Live-Action Discussion
I am REALLY looking forward to this film! Could you guess looking at my Avatar?
Ironically enough Numan Acar (Jafars right hand man) looks basically like the spitting image of Jafar and visually looks like he would be a much better fit, but I'm sure Marwan Kenzari will be fine in the role, I just thought he seemed a little too young since Jafar is a character who has reached a certain age which adds to his intelligence and intimidation, but I guess they are going for a different take on Jafar this time. Perhaps they cast a younger actor due to more fight scenes.

Re: Aladdin Live-Action Discussion
You're right! I looked him up and he looks exactly like Jafar (or Rasputin). The actor they cast for Jafar is not only younger, but also much more physically in shape and handsome, when the animated Jafar was anything but. Their take on the character must be different, otherwise I can't imagine why they would not have cast Numan Acar.WarriorDreamer wrote:I am REALLY looking forward to this film! I guess this means the other new song is for the Genie? That's disappointing. I was hoping Aladdin or Jafar would get the other one.

Re: Aladdin Live-Action Discussion
It's possible that they might still use Proud of Your Boy and not consider it a new song since it's also been in the musical. I I don't remember if they flat out said that they won't use songs from the musical though, or any deleted songs. Jafar has a number of deleted songs as well, which maybe they won't consider as brand-new.

Oh, come on, Disney, it's Aladdin or Jafar who need a new song! Would be okaaay if "Proud of Your Boy" was in, but I'd rather a song more relevant to the new film character and story.

Some footage of Will Smith was presented although it hasn't been made available to the public yet. From the description, his role sounds promising.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
I'm assuming this is during Jasmine's new song, Speechless.
Source: http://ew.com/movies/2018/04/24/disney- ... -williams/Those in attendance also got a sneak peek of Mena Massoud as Aladdin, decked out in white as he dashes through the labyrinth of market streets in sequences that Smith said were “really exciting” and befitting of the cinematic style of director Guy Ritchie. The video also offered a brief look at Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine wearing her iconic turquoise costume and flowing pink robes as she sings and dances.

Re: Aladdin (Live-Action)
I can understand why they decided to accentuate the 'A' even if I wish they'd left it alone. Too small to see if the dot of the 'i' is still a lamp like the last logo we saw. (I hope they got rid of that, personally.)

Here's a better look at the logo. I like it although it's not as good as the movie or the Broadway one. The first half of the "A" is the only thing that needs a little work.

Not digging the logo. It's quite generic. But at least The Lion King has the same logo (at least for now).
