I know this has been said many times before, but this is the weirdest choice of a movie to get a 2-disc treatment. I'm truly baffled as to why other films like Hercules, Hunchback, Tarzan, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh arent getting released or re-released as 2-discs over THIS!

I'm finding it incredibly disgusting that Disney STILL hasn't figured a release date for this. Right now we don't have an Animated Classic being release until June and that's the Winnie the Pooh re-release, which we know close to nothing about as well. What in the world can be holding them back!?!

Would you rather we go back to 2000's schedule of 2 or 3 DAC's a month* in subpar editions? :P

*well, just March, April, May, June (twice), July, August, and October

YES! I wanna finish my collection right NOW Im so close...so close... *Veruca Salt mode* DONT CARE HOW! I WANT IT NOW!!! Those of you who've seen the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will get that...

No im joking...I'd much rather wait a while for better releases.

But are they really going to release: Pinocchio, Fantasia, Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time and Fantasia 2000 anytime soon? And in nice shiny slip covers? :D

Anyways...Wow if Disney comes up out of no where and says "HEY GUESS WHAT YOUR GETTING ARISTOCATS GROOVEN JAZZ 1 DISC EDITION WITH EXCITING NEW GAMES!!" my head will explode....and BVHE or Disney will get a flood of upset e-mails...

But lets think optimistic...YAY ARISTOCATS IS GETTING A 2 DISCER!

Pinocchio is slated to recieve Platinum Edition treatment, most likely in the fall of 2008 (that's my guess anyway) and probably no later than 2009.

And Fantasia was also deemed worthy enough to recieve a Platinum release. I'm guessing that we'll get the Fantasia PE in 2009 or 2010, possibly even later. :( But I think the chances are really good that Disney will release a SE of Fantasia 2000 (maybe even a 2-Disk release!) to promote the Fantasia PE. So you might wind up with those two films within a couple of months from eachother!

Oh, and at the rate Disney's going, I think you can expect that each new rerelease of a Disney Animated Classic WILL have a shiney new slipcover.

I just thought of this though... The 2-Disc SE of Pocahontas came out on May 3 in 2005. Maybe we'll get this in May?!? I really hope so.

I doubt it. Disney usually announces their DVDs about three months in advance. The earliest we could seeing this would be in June, but that's not very likely since the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is being re-released that month.

Great! I quite like the slipcovers.

Who was it that posted a while back that the video store they worked in had a sign claiming we would see the disc in May? I can't seem to find his or her post. Anyway, I'm siding with them.

ARISTOCATS GROOVEN JAZZ EDITION !
my eyes roll and i actually groan whenever i re read that title name, i dont know why you think its a cool title, and keep implying how much you want it to be called that, that is horrible edition title, i think the title they have for it now is just fine.

if you really want your copy to be titled that just make your own cover art with that in the title, and let us not have to hear that horrid name again.

sorry i just am tired of reading that thing over and over again we get it that you want that to be the title.

But they have announced the DVD. Just because they havn't told us the release date doesn't mean they can't release it whenever they want. I can't imagine that they've completely stoped production of the release just because they havn't told us a solid release date.

If it was coming out in May, we'd be hearing about it in the next ten days at the absolute latest. It doesn't sound like it's coming that soon, unfortunately.

It was a joke, take everything so seriousley lol...

And first of all, if you would have actually read who was posting that same edition title name...you would have known it was not me.

Secondly...I don't like that name at all, I was just using it as an example of how Disney comes out with these 1 disc releases with clever edition names.

3rdly...if you want to get upset at someone for saying something that annoys you...you mite want to read the name of the person who wrote it before you get mad and actually take the post into a different context. Instead of just reading ARISTOCATS GROOVEN JAZZ Edtion..try reading the whole post to see why its even in there because you assumed that I wanted a title like that.

Just for future reference before you make the same mistake again. But I'll forgive you this time. :D

Anyways thankfully, Pinocchio and Fantasia will be coming in new sets for sure. All the others ones might take forever. Thanks BB and Simba :)

i realize you were not the one who came up with it, if you notice the quote doesnt have your name on it now does it? :D that completely unCLEVER edition title is mentioned to many times through out this thread, rather than offend anyone specific person i chose to quote the title (nothing else in the comments where the title is mentioned) with out a name, but it looks like i managed to do so anyways.
i mean no ill will towards you or anyone else just that horrible made up title
but anyways have a great night

I want to clear up that I was the one who came up with the title, here's the original post, it's the post right beneath the original. Oh, and jeremy88 is right: IT WAS ONLY A JOKE!!!!!
